the current version I'm running is sp-2, but that's updated. I think the original version I ran is XP-home media or something like that. It came with my dell laptop 1/26/2009 9:12:04 AM |

so i installed winxp on the girls laptop, because her gateway mt6451 (1gb ram) can't handle vista comfortably.
runs fine till we get the old drivers hooked up, at which point it says: Victim of software counterfeiting.
I do this: http://www.petri.co.il/change_the_serial_in_windows_xp.htm
Twice and one of the keys works, then defaults back to a bad cd key.
Keep trying different cd keys or wipe clean and try with a different winxp iso? 1/27/2009 7:05:13 PM |

you need more than a good CD key to activate XP 1/27/2009 7:09:50 PM |

Is the version installed likely the problem? Not the key? 1/27/2009 7:10:54 PM |
