WH: Right now at State, our team's confidence seems to be down and our fans seem to not really believe in this team's ability to win games, even when we have a lead. Do you feel like the attitude and outlook of the fans ever seeps in to the locker room, or bring down the team's morale.....or do the players honestly not worry about how the fan base feels?
IE: In basketball, it is important to keep outside influences outside the team. Things like criticism from fans, friends, and the likes, the media (good or bad), and other things that can influence the play of the team, needs to be kept away. The self confidence to win those games has to come from the team, because at the end of the day, they will be the ones on the court performing and winning. It is the job of the players individually and collectively to do this task. But the fans need to understand that it doesn't hurt anyone more than the players and coaching staff to lose a game. Reason is the fans have no idea how much work is put behind closed doors, and some of the sacrifices that have been made. No one likes to lose. Especially not the guys fighting on the court." |
ok evtimov, fair enough, you would think that out of all teams, but it really, truly, honestly, 100%, to the fullest... based on their body language game in and game out, that they really dont give a flying fuck about winning or losing, or rather, what it is going to take to win ball games1/26/2009 11:25:26 AM |

^Huh? I'm pretty sure they care about losing. Did you see McCauley after the last game? He cares a lot.
Anyways, great interview, good to hear that he's doing well. I miss him sometimes. When are we going to get another crusty European player who can shoot the 3 and has asweet scoop hook-shot? 1/26/2009 11:42:13 AM |
