Model: Lenovo 3000 N100
My apologies - I should have searched. New question: Who is a reputable seller for a laptop backlight?
Original post follows
The backlight has been flickering on and off occasionally for the past week or so. Today it finally went. A quick search on ebay turned up a backlight for less than $10, but I have no idea if that seems correct or if it should be more. How hard is it to do this? I can use a soldering iron, but have no experience tinkering with laptops. Still, I'm curious and kind of want to do this myself. I may regret it later, but this thing is getting old anyway.

just check ebay...if they have a decent rating (no less than 99%, IMO), they're probably okay (though i always recommend checking their most recent reviews to see what about them people had problems with)
aside from that, it's easy and cheap to replace a backlight (as i'm sure you found in your searching) 1/27/2009 10:19:24 AM |
