Gonna be doing a lot of long distance pavement pounding on this one, so nothing too extreme, but 33x12.50's will fit without lifting it.
I fuckin love these rims 18x9
and going back with the trxus mt's, they were some damn good wearing and riding tires on the original big red
gonna be a little while yet, tuner, exhaust, gauges, and intake are first, and i want to get as much wear as i can out of the stockers for now
someone do some photoshopping for me

not a fan of that style wheel, looks like you stuck wheel weights all around the rim, but alot of people seem to like them. oh well. not my money. anyway, love the tires. good choice. haven't seen many new style chevys with bigger wheels/tires. i'm sure it will look good. 1/27/2009 11:19:02 PM |

what makes you want that? everything i've heard about it is it's a garbage programmer. it'll make your truck smoke like hell if that's your thing. personally it's a sign to me that it's a shitty tune. i'd either go with banks, PPE, or hypertech. if you are looking for a balls-out tune that's been wrote good i'd go with PPE Hot+2.1/28/2009 9:38:01 AM |

^ you had any EGR issues yet? Mine's in the shop for trip #2 for EGR issues at 38K miles. Also had the torque converter control solenoid go out and fried the torque converter, and they found a bunch of trash in my tranny and a fluid leak. thank god for warranty. 1/28/2009 10:36:39 AM |

LMM son, '07.5 and up is a whole different emmisions world. Quad and PPE are the only ones that can do some certain non 50 state legal programming at a sub-hot/race tune level, if you catch my drift. The quad scout/commander is also leaps and bounds over the edge insight and banks power pda as far as digital monitoring goes.
The rims are one of the dale earnhardt jr. series, and the tires are still up in the air, leaning toward those 10 ply trxus mt's again, or the e load rated bfg a/t's1/28/2009 5:01:19 PM |

yeah, i know all about that shit which is why i went with a LBZ. i had the choice of body styles when i ordered my truck. i'd just recommend reading up on both. i've read a lot of horror stories regarding the quadzilla on a LMM.

nope. the only problems i have with mine are both notoriously common issues. the first is the intermediate steering shaft. it had a slight rattle to it but it's not bad enough yet for me to concern myself with it. the 2nd is i just noticed the trans cooler line has a very slight drip when it's below freezing outside. i know it's due to high idle and the torque converter being locked during warm-up. there is a flash update available for our trucks that will keep the t.c. unlocked during warm-up. where did you take your truck? did they say anything regarding the mods? i hope you put the stock tune back in. just an fyi if the dealer happens to do a reflash you'll lose your tune. you'll have to send the programmer back to the manufacturer to get it unlocked.1/28/2009 8:57:28 PM |

Took it back to Hendrick, guy called and asked if it was programmed, no point in lying.
They covered everything under the drivetrain warranty. I didn't return it to stock, and it wouldn't have done any good. They reflashed my ECM as per the TSB on the codes it was throwing with a new and updated program, so I have to send it back anyways, no matter if I returned it to stock or not.
They have been super cool, they did the EGR "clean" per the TSB the first time but it threw the codes as soon as I drove it off the lot. Took it back today and they replaced the EGR, we'll see how it goes. I'm considering the blocker plate for it. They found that same trans cooler line leak when they had the tranny apart, granted it was during that cold/snowy snap as well. YOu should have heard my truck try to high idle with the TCC being shot. A whole new experience for me! Everything should be good now, although I am considering a Transgo Jr. kit to handle the Stage 3 tune. 1/28/2009 10:30:08 PM |

^^yeah, the transgo jr. kit is in order for mine even though i feel like i should be fine without it since i hardly ever get on it. in fact, it has to be months since i've actually held it w.o.t. i'm also planning on doing the blocker plate/finger stick. i'm actually almost done with mods for mine. i want to replace the grille, add a bull bar so i can add extra lighting, and replace the shocks in addition to the transgo and b.p./f.s. i'll probably upgrade the brakes when the pads wear out or when the rotors warp. i'm looking at SSBC's tri-power caliper/rotors. why would you have had to send your programmer back anyway? i was under the assumption that the ecm could receive a reflash for updates as long as you put the stock program back in. have you updated your programmer via internet since you've bought it? i'm curious to know if there are any updates available. we still need to do the all-on mod on your truck. i couldn't imagine driving at night on these back roads without it. let me know when/if you order the blocker plate/f.s. i'll go ahead and order mine at the same time. if you feel like driving out to northern wake county we could do the all-on mod and b.p./f.s. install on both trucks at the same time over at my house. 1/29/2009 8:56:19 AM |

According to the hypertech site they said that if there is a new program put on the ECM that they don't have a calibration for, even if you returned it to stock, that you have to send it back in. I tried an internet update on it last week and it told me that one was not available. I can still read codes, but cannot go any further. I just got off the phone with Hypertech and I have to fax them my receipt and invoice and then they'll provide an update to me via the internet, that'll save some time!
I need to get off my butt and order the BP/FS since as of right now my EGR is working fine. And yeah I definitely want to get the all-on mods done. Who are you going to be ordering the BP/FS from?

you'll be waiting a while to upgrade those brakes if you wait until they wear out. Mine has 80k miles on it and the pads aren't quite half worn... and I do a fair amount of towing. It's not like passenger car or even 1/2 ton truck brakes.

i had these on my old truck, and similar ones before that, i don't like the polished or chromw, its too old school redneck, i want something that stands out instead of looking like every other truck rim for the past 20 years, plus with it broken up like htat, its harder to notice scratches and rash, they just arent as hard to keep up

i need to find a 2.5-3" suspension lift, to run 325/60-18's because i don't want to have to settle for a 3" body lift, and I don't want a full 6" lift on this one, just want to give it a better stance
there just isnt much out for the 07.5-09 2500 hd's yet

^^this is the only leveling kit i'd recommend. be sure to read why their kit is better than other "reindexing key" kits. they have other kits if you want to go a little higher also.
