i'm having flashbacks now to fucking crooked pbjs, sandwiches where one slice is thick as fuck and the other is a sliver, and the ass-busting chore of always picking up a mountain of crumbs each time you slice off some breadfuck breadmakersand fuck whoever sparked that mid 1990s breadmaker craze

haha the problem isn't the breadmaker - it's the lack of a proper slicing guidethat said, I've given up on making sammiches with my homemade bread.

Okay, yeah the crumb deal sucks. A good, sharp bread knife will limit this.Your beef with the unequal slices is all you man. Not the bread/breadmaker. If you don't have the hand/eye coordination to make some generally equal slices... well, sorry.

crooked pbjs are better than crooked ducks, at least.

http://www.cutco.com/products/product.jsp?itemGroup=1724This will solve all problems mentioned on this page. Additionally, bread makers are 7/10 when they actually go from ingredients to cooked bread. We've got the large chef's knife, bread knife, and the paring knife. The chef's knife is straight money. It's not a Wustoff in terms of weight, and I would prefer a ceramic edge, but the balance is nice, heavy enough to cleave whole chickens, and you can make quick work of all but the finest of chops.Bread knife is the best I've ever used. The teeth are rounded funny and cut through hot bread like butter.Paring knife just felt great in my hand so I got one Not the best, but it's 100x what Pampered Chef sells. Just learn how to use a sharpening stone & steel and you're good to go.
