lol don't ask a chick out over the internet. unless you have never met her IRL, and then you're already creepy so if she still talks to you she's probably desperate, or socially inept.

I couldn't ask her out in person, she works at a place where I quit from and there was no other way to get in touch with her...anyway, I have my technique and it usually serves me well enough

although these days not so much

Doesn't matter. Use the phone.

And for that matter, if you never see her in person as it is, then it probably wasn't worth asking in the first place. You should have started by asking to hang out.

I don't have her number, and anyway I think it was less creepy to send a Facebook message than try to look her number up and call her

but maybe that's an erroneous understanding

It was kind of a weird situation, actually...I was applying for a position where she would have been my boss. So I couldn't ask her out then, of course. But I didn't get the position, so I quit the job entirely, and then asked. Maybe I will do this by phone/in person whenever possible, henceforth.

oh, I see...you mean like "hang out" vs. "date"
I don't do that...it's too easy to end up wasting my time/energy and then finding out she's interested in somebody else. I like a woman to be totally free and to know that we are on the same page with regard to intentions and shit.

Maybe that is part of why I never get laid.

never ask a girl out over the internet. If you don't know her well enough that you don't have her phone number, why in the hell are you trying to ask her out anyways? you're setting yourself up for failure.

threads like this are reasons why i come to the wolfweb. good laughs

this is just how I roll...I've asked out a lot of girls to whom I have not said five words before, and oftentimes they say yes. I've asked out many girls over the internet, too, and oftentimes they say yes. But I am happy to contribute my present failure to your amusement.

the more times you ask someone out regardless of message = the more chances of success. big deal if it was a fail, at least you tried. also, if a girl is actually interested in hanging out, she'd agree no matter the method of asking.

this is a generational issue. You won't find many people above ~24-25 too comfortable asking someone out on facebook, but younger people don't see to have an issue.

Some of you are just getting old...

It takes more than 5 words to find out if a girl is worth dating or not. And if she says yes, she's either desperate, ugly, slutty, or has really low standards.

I'm a youth worker and I spend a lot of time with high schoolers, and most of them would still say that asking out on facebook is either A)creepy or B) sad.

everything is "creepy" to people now a days. i don't really see anything creepy about it, especially if you at least have met the person at least once irl.

You sound like a guy that doesn't have much game. I had great success working the interweb angle back in my college days.

you dont have to ask her to hang out but something very casual at first like lunch, coffee or jackleg's favorite...ice cream

yeah, that's usually my technique in situations of this sort...more

"Hey, I think you're cool, and I'd like to get some coffee and see how we get along"

than

"I think you are beautiful...let's go have a romantic dinner by candlelight

people think i'm joking when i say that, but i would not have it any other way!

i mean, yeah.... its a tww inside joke kinda thing when i ask the chicks on here out for ice cream and all that.

i guess the reason its such a joke to me on here is cause IRL its my modus operandi ice cream is the most non-threatening thing ever, it makes everybody happy, and its so fucking tasty. i'll take ice cream over drinking a latte and getting all jittery and un-natural any day!

(and if she thinks ice cream is lame, fuck her anyways!)

ice cream dates rank right up there with smiley faces
