he's an asshole

trust me on this

he may put on a pretty speech
he may draw a huge crowd
he may have the best blog on the internet

at the end of the day

he thinks he is the best thing ever, and he treats people like garbage

he's an asshole

for some reason "famous people" = someone worth (paying to?) listening too...

however there are several examples where this is not true...

I went to a Postsecret event in PA. I wasn't terribly impressed by it. I enjoy his website, and I check it out every week. But the presentation wasn't much more than about 45 minutes. He explains the history of developing the website, shows you some postcards that he's received but wasn't allowed to publish for legal reasons (ex. somebody wrote something on a Disney product which is copyrighted), then he allows about 15-20 minutes for people to present their own secrets.

I don't understand allowing people to present their secrets. The entire point of his website is to make the declarations anonymously, which you're not doing when you get up in front of a room of 300-500 people. And I was surprised by how short the entire thing was - no more than 75 minutes total, then he starts signing books.

I'm not saying "Don't go," but I drove an hour and a half each way to attend, and didn't feel it was worth driving 3 hours for a 1 hour talk. Wish I had known that ahead of time.
