it seems like the mods are on a mission to suspend anyone that steals their thunder

people say they want a clean site where people are dead serious all the time... and the more the mods try to impose that, the less active this place is. in TWW's prime, mods didn't even have suspend and there was little to no administrative oversight. they pretty much had to beg CrazyJ to suspend someone or actually fucking moderate discussions using the only power they had -- edit. I would say prior to mod suspension >99% of edits were legitimate moderation, while recently edits have been used more frequently for moderators to mock users or glorify themselves. now, instead of actually moderating discussions, they whip out their suspension dick. half of the personalities that made this place amusing are suspended and the remainder are operating on tenuous threats of permaspension if they so much as sneeze.

to use myself as an example, I was suspended for "hacking" repeatedly, but who pointed out in the "post your name on the closings list" thread that you could edit your posting without being re-screened? that's right. disruptive elements bring a lot more to this forum than they take from it. mods should stick to moderating truly disruptive behaviors such as denial of service, rather than... say... engaging in them as synapse did with his pic bombing in chit chat and suggestion that I fuck off because my dual processor server "couldn't handle it". mods should not rob the community of what makes it interesting because they feel they should be the center of attention.

back to the point, 69 eagerly brings his mechanical aptitude to the garage, I and other users respect and appreciate that. editing his posts and suspending him for crossing a line in the sand when you can just as easily edit the posts and accept that nobody cares enough about fucking with a subforum for a longer period of time than it takes for the novelty to wear off is pretty senseless.
