Aight I could really use some help from people who listen to good music. I was reborn into the music world 2 years ago to my lord and savior Dimebag Darrell. However, much like being reborn into christianity, after about 2 years you have heard just about everything yer savior has to offer. In the spirit of the guy god wished were his son, can you folks recommend some fantabulous metal other than Megadeth, Pantera, Black label society, iron maiden, metallica, or trivium....but along those lines? Not a big fan of the high pitched screaming bullshit cuz I like to kinda comprehend what they are saying. Slayer is kinda mediocre imo.

Black Label Society is not fantabulous, but whatever floats your boat.

Anyway, browse through http://www.bnrmetal.com and find something that sounds like what you're looking for. From your bands, it looks like you're mostly into thrash, so try http://www.bnrmetal.com/v2/allbands.php?country=XXX&genre=T

naw, it's not that way. the site's just run by one guy, and from talking with him a few times, it sounds like his real job has been pretty busy lately. he also just redesigned the site, so he hasn't had as much time to do actual band profiles and updates lately.

and static-x is not what comes to mind when i think of industrial metal (btw, huge difference between industrial metal, industrial, and industrial dance; industrial doesn't belong in this thread, really).

for good industrial metal, i'd recommend

red harvest
ministry
pitchshifter
thee maldoror kollective
rorschach test
skrew
the CNK (Count Nosferatu Kommando, or The Cosa Nostra Klub, depending on the album)

Edit: not that Static-X is a terrible example, it's just that they went WAY downhill after Wisconsin Death Trip and Machine. Shadow Zone was almost unlistenable for me.

amg orgasm ^^ previously its been such a bitch to search for the this stuff cuz whenever you look up metal/thrash metal/groove metal you get lots of bullshit....and of course theres the people that classify some bands under "metal" when they really should put them under "i like to cry a lot"

Shadow Zone just felt like Wayne started listening to way too much Linkin Park. And I actually enjoyed LP's Hybrid Theory album, but Wayne, fuuuuck... you're not Linkin Park. You're Wayne Static. Be Wayne Static.

yeah man, you just search any band you like and it will tell you a list of like 8+ similar bands based on what other users listen to.

If you get the fire.fm extention for firefox you can set it to JUST play all your recommended music thats pretty much how i find all new music these days

I rememeber Kingdom Come and Dokken being the other "like Metallica" bands back in the 86-88 period. Megadeth was just Mustaine being pissed that Metallica dumped him.

That being said, Anthrax is basically forgotten, when they were like the "cool uncle" of all these bands that came out from underneath the Van Halen/Def Lepard/hair bands, and really put some power and speed behind the rock.

I mean, Gung Ho and Medusa were songs that you imagined those guys like the linebacker in The Program getting all pumped up to.

um, no, Dokken was NO WHERE near like Metallica in 86-88. They were much closer to Bon Jovi than Metallica

And early Kingdom Come was more like Led Zeppelin, not Metallica in the least.

For every metal fan that has forgotten about Anthrax a thrash fan who has worn out all his DRI CDs is starting to listen to them, so it all works out.
