I too get CNN email updates. This is bad tho.[Edited on February 13, 2009 at 12:23 AM. Reason : .]
2/13/2009 12:23:40 AM
oh damn, it was a commercial plane. for some reason I thought it would have been a 2-seater or some shit.terrible
2/13/2009 12:25:32 AM
48 people on board coming out of newark
2/13/2009 12:28:12 AM
Shit
2/13/2009 12:28:55 AM
damn, that's really shitty. where's Sully when you need him?
2/13/2009 12:29:05 AM
now they are saying 49 deadtwo people that were in the house it crashed into were taking to the hospital though- kinda surprised anyone in the house made it through
2/13/2009 12:30:21 AM
it is on TV on CNN right now if anyone wants to see what is going on
2/13/2009 12:31:34 AM
reason number eleventy billion never to ride on a puddle-jumping prop commuter plane.jet engines ONLY
2/13/2009 12:34:45 AM
^ sometimes you have no choice, especially when flying into BuffaloI have several friends from Buffalo who's families still live up there, so i have some text messages out. Trying to see how close their families are to the crash[Edited on February 13, 2009 at 12:36 AM. Reason : a]
2/13/2009 12:35:22 AM
then i would drive or take a train, but I hate flying anyway
2/13/2009 12:35:50 AM
turboprops hold up a lot better to birds than jets do...It should also be noted I greatly prefer riding the turboprops because they get to pass all the ground traffic and get in between bigger planes. Probably have saved 30 minutes or better per flight in the takeoff queue.
2/13/2009 12:40:07 AM
If given the option to fly or drive from Newark to Buffalo, it would definitely be safer to fly
2/13/2009 12:40:12 AM
scary, man... those were some huge flames...
2/13/2009 12:42:06 AM
finally got it on the website:
2/13/2009 12:42:18 AM
Had a puddle jumper from Cincy to RDU on Monday night... yikes!
2/13/2009 12:42:19 AM
I agree planes are much safer than driving, but in terms of plane crashes in isolation, the props are by far the most likely to crash.
2/13/2009 12:44:22 AM
they were loaded with fuel I am sure, because that is a short flight and I am sure they were going to turn it right around and fly passengers out of Buffalo to another airport, most likely Newark. Considering, of course, that Newark is a Continental hub.[Edited on February 13, 2009 at 12:47 AM. Reason : a]
2/13/2009 12:44:36 AM
good point...
2/13/2009 12:47:47 AM
well, i bet plane tickets will get even cheaper!
2/13/2009 12:49:48 AM
the loaded plane (full fuel) explains why it is such a massive fire.
2/13/2009 12:52:09 AM
Turbo-props are also great for sleeping on, as long as the weather conditions aren't so bad. Stall speed is probably a good bit lower on them too, at least you can hit the ground going slower...
2/13/2009 12:53:47 AM
i remember hearing after the hudson river crash that some network had previous to that been talking about how long it had been since a plane crash, now we have two in two weeks
2/13/2009 1:03:27 AM
I blame it on Obama
2/13/2009 1:06:11 AM
2/13/2009 1:09:09 AM
why the fuck does CNN have these British bitches talking about this shit? The weather bitch actually talked about wind speeds in terms of kilometers.
2/13/2009 1:10:10 AM
probably a down draft....
2/13/2009 1:20:44 AM
FUCK LANDING IN THE HUDSON, I'M GONNA LAND THIS BITCH ON A HOUSE, NIGGA
2/13/2009 1:22:21 AM
2/13/2009 1:32:51 AM
God damn it, why did we have to have this happen so soon after the Hudson? Cue another wave of retarded motherfuckers who think a plane ticket is basically a one-way to death.
2/13/2009 1:36:08 AM
this is some final destination shit
2/13/2009 1:42:25 AM
2/13/2009 1:50:38 AM

was anybody else's first thought that this was because of Colonel Debaku and the CIP device?
2/13/2009 9:56:52 AM
For the plane crash? no.For the FAA Computers getting hacked? yes.http://www.informationweek.com/news/security/attacks/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=213900025
2/13/2009 9:59:02 AM
but it was the FAA computers getting hacked that CAUSED the plane crash.get your 24 straight, son.
2/13/2009 10:00:31 AM
Damn, one of the women on board was a widow of a 9/11 victim
2/13/2009 10:06:48 AM
I know that flying is safer overall, but there's a great deal of comfort in holding a steering wheel... At least if I'm in a crash, I can swerve this way and that. Instead of oxygen masks, they should just drop little fisher price steering wheels into everyone's lap so we can feel like we have at least a little control over our final few seconds of life
2/15/2009 2:18:49 PM
^ I agree with this statement. I don't even like riding in a car when someone else is driving, makes you feel like your fate is out of your hands.
2/15/2009 2:27:59 PM
at least in a car you have some chance of surviving a crashin a plane you're just SL[Edited on February 15, 2009 at 2:31 PM. Reason : unless you're Lois Lane, then it's good]
2/15/2009 2:30:50 PM
