I was just wondering if anybody on here at NCSU has a copy of Crysis that they'd like to let me borrow or maybe buy? I don't really have time to play games much, but I'd like to see how it runs on my new quad-core laptop... 2/15/2009 9:06:56 PM |

it will still run like shit
i threw it on a dual quad core server (xeon 5300 series i think) with 64 GB of RAM and it was still choppy on the highest settings 2/15/2009 9:08:21 PM |

what? I never claimed to have a supercomputer but I think that it will run ok on ---Q9550, 2.83 ghz quad ---3.25gb ram ---9800M GTX, 1 gb video ram
I just want to see how it looks, as I haven't even done any gaming on the computer since I gave up "Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed" back in the day. 2/15/2009 9:14:21 PM |

So I bought Crysis Warhead from a guy on Craigslist, and it is running just fine, thanks. I would do a benchmark and post the results if I knew how... 2/16/2009 1:27:40 AM |

Thanks, I'll run it tonight... Just for shits and giggles last night I cranked everything to "enthusiast" settings and the set the resolution to 1920x1200, and the framerate hovered between 14 and 15. Certainly not the best, but not too bad for a laptop. Anyone know why this game doesn't support 1680x1050? It would be nice to run it at native resolution on my external monitor... 2/16/2009 10:44:06 AM |

that's really weird, I'm pretty sure it supports that resolution. It also makes me that people these days are getting laptops with larger native res than my desktop. 2/16/2009 4:48:13 PM |

IIRC the resolution options jumped from 1600x1200 to 1600x1024 or something like that. And yes, this screen is amazing... It is weird for me too having a 17" laptop screen running at a higher resolution than the 22" monitor sitting next to it... 2/16/2009 4:59:23 PM |

Crysis Warhead is the 2nd Crysis release which was 'dumbed down' for more realistic hardware configurations 2/16/2009 5:00:05 PM |

I heard that it was moreso optimized than "dumbed down." I wouldn't really know though because I haven't played the original. 2/17/2009 11:09:55 AM |
