And of course, that worthless dog doesn't start barking until the sheriff's deputy is leaving.
2/18/2009 10:10:08 PM
At least hes barking?
2/18/2009 10:10:44 PM
I left a dick print in a very conspicuous place.

2/18/2009 10:13:16 PM
i'd be freaking out right about now.
2/18/2009 10:15:10 PM
Get a shotgun.
2/18/2009 10:15:47 PM
If someone tried to break in my spot, I'd let them come and set fire to their ass as soon as both feet are planted inside.
2/18/2009 10:15:50 PM
*checks on the 2 loaded guns in night stand*
2/18/2009 10:16:08 PM
As soon as I have the cash, I'll be getting a gun or three. Not because of this, though. I just like shooting
2/18/2009 10:19:30 PM
walmart is open 24/7shotguns are cheap
2/18/2009 10:20:45 PM
what do you live around so i know to get my arsenal ready or not.
2/18/2009 10:20:57 PM
oddly enough, I never worried about anyone breaking in when I lived in an apartment, but I found that ever since we started living in a house, it's something that's been a concern of mine. I've thought about owning a gun, or even something as simple as a baseball bat (I wasnt raised with guns, so i probably wouldn't end up getting one). I realized I dont have a phone upstairs, too. Just little things. I don't know why it all of the sudden creeped up on me.
2/18/2009 10:22:01 PM
A hammer and a bat is all you need. Throw the hammer, and follow up with homerun swing.
2/18/2009 10:24:22 PM
^^ safety in numbers
2/18/2009 10:24:58 PM
and typically, houses have more possible entry points than an apartment does.
2/18/2009 10:29:30 PM
And less of a chance of someone seeing them breaking in, or hearing the noise, especially houses on the end of a row, since it only neighbors one house.[Edited on February 18, 2009 at 10:30 PM. Reason : //]

I actually would feel kinda bad for anyone who broke in here. No tv or anything worth anything out in the living room, barring some of my old computers in a pile with parts stripped out. And if they ever got into the bedroom it would go.... poorly.
2/18/2009 10:35:16 PM
Kevin's working nights right now and I nearly shit myself last night trying to sleep. I kept hearing weird pots falling type noises. But we have so many damn pets who knows what it was.
2/18/2009 10:35:27 PM
Renter's insurance?
2/18/2009 10:37:20 PM
Definitely get renter's insurance. That saved my ass when my apartment was broken into. They reimbursed me about $3000...no questions asked. Just needed to give them a police report.
2/18/2009 10:38:33 PM
I got dat.
2/18/2009 10:39:01 PM
homeless?
2/18/2009 10:39:27 PM
With the economy the way it is, crime is going up.
2/18/2009 10:41:35 PM
All I got to say if someone breaks in my spot while I am here, someone will have to be carried out of here, quite possibly wearing a toe tag.
2/18/2009 10:42:33 PM
back when i lived on brent rd, we basically never locked any of the doors. would sometime come home from class, no one would be there...or it would just be one of the roommates' friends there. nothing ever got stolen until my bday party when someone stole my nevermind cd.doesn't mean im that careless now. got too many easy-to-carry-away valuables. how much does renter's insurance end up costing per month?
2/18/2009 10:42:58 PM
^^I'll pay you to stay in the guest wing when my husband works nights.
2/18/2009 10:44:02 PM
I got 12k worth for like 90/yr or something like that. And 100k in damage, like if you cause a fire or something. And cover your shit unconditionally, except for natural flooding.^ I can do security if shit gets to tight with this economy.[Edited on February 18, 2009 at 10:45 PM. Reason : //]

my renter's insurance through allstate costs less than $20 a month.everything is covered inside of my house, for whatever reason.also, if a house guest has an accident in my house, they can legally sue the fuck out of me. I'm covered on that as well...
2/18/2009 10:45:51 PM
Yeah, I am covered from other people as well. Mine works out to be 14/month for in 9 payments, or something like that. I got mine through Geico.
2/18/2009 10:47:31 PM
I forgot what my costs exactly per month.it was cheap enough that when I got my first monthly bill, I just paid that shit in full
2/18/2009 10:48:55 PM
Mine is on monthly auto draft, I was broke as fuck when I first got it, and just never changed the payment set-up.
2/18/2009 10:49:46 PM
I actually got a break on it. $$ off auto and renter's insurance since I use allstate for both
2/18/2009 10:50:49 PM
reminds me of kittyb's thread a while back
2/18/2009 10:50:58 PM
I don't know if I got a break on it, but I used the company that Geico offers there shit through, Assurant, i think is what it is.

2/18/2009 10:55:27 PM
indeed
2/18/2009 10:58:22 PM
That's sketchy. It takes a lot of balls or a lot of stupidity to try to break in while people are there. I always wonder what is going through those people's minds.

I've been so tired lately, if someone broke in I would probably sleep right through it
2/18/2009 11:15:30 PM
what was the police response time
2/18/2009 11:20:16 PM
^I would say around ten minutes.
2/18/2009 11:31:56 PM
2/18/2009 11:40:43 PM
Afterwards.I prefaced it with 'Someone tried to break into my house, but they're gone now.'
