This one is tomorrow too, but I ain't gonna be there so I don't guess it matters that the gift is either.

This one is gonna be coed too. The girls are playing dumb baby games but she said she isn't gonna make the guys play. They are just gonna hang out and eat.

Sounds like it's gonna be a super bowl party with gifts.

I don't know why people put stuff like that on their registries. What if they end up not even being able to breast feed?

I don't understand the concept of registries anyways. Why should I buy you something because you got married/bought a house/are having a kid? If you can't afford it to the point where you can't buy yourself all it entails, you shouldn't be doing it to begin with. Needless to say, my fiance and I are registering this weekend As long as people are going to be getting us things, might as well be things we like.

I kinda don't agree with wedding registries because in this day and age, people have all the stuff they need for their household by the time they get married.

But with babies a lot of people want to buy gifts for their friends and registering makes it easier to tell them what you want/need.

We didn't. A lot of THAT stuff is very personal. It is kinda like putting condoms or tampons on a registry

^^My Mom is going to a shower tomorrow for a couple having their fifth girl. If anyone has everything they need for that baby, then they do. It comes to a point where people should stop asking for things.

But I do understand what you mean. When my sister found out she was pregnant, we were all very excited to get things for her. I think it's different for your first though.

Well, etiquette says that you are only really supposed to have a shower for your first child.

But that isn't really how it goes nowadays.
A couple years ago this girl threw herself a shower for her second kid and my friend had a conniption because it's apparently really distasteful to 1) throw yourself a shower and 2) have one for your second and subsequent children.

I could somewhat understand if a relative wanted to throw a shower for a second child if the were expecting a child of the opposite sex of their first, but IMHO, it would be crass to make it more than just family.
