what would I do if I left a ding or dent somebody else's car? probably nothing. so i guess karma got me

I think it's definitely a smart idea to dent someone's car in front of them and then leave the area, with your car and the person you just pissed off, alone.

one time i forgot the parking brake and my P.O.S. car rolled halfway across the lot into another car while i was in the bank.

i came back out, discovered my car had made a nice smash into the other car's quarterpanel.

some people were on the sidewalk watching, so i got some paperwork out of the glove compartment, and wrote some stuff down on a piece of paper and stuck it on the other car's windshield.

the onlookers seemed satisfied, and so i drove off.

the paper i put said,

If it was a decent car that wasn't already riddled with dents and scratches I'd leave a note saying "Sorry...Here's my number if you want me to take care of it." Some people will just assume that dings happen and not worry about it, but it's still your responsibility if you make a mistake.

But I'm super careful around other people's cars, so I think it is unlikely.

most of the time I park closer to my left hand side, so when the driver on the right opens their door it won't hit mine. this is assuming that no douchebag is gonna back up to the spot and the car on my left doesn't have passengers

There's a bright blue car in my apartment complex that usually parks close to where I do. One day, I noticed a nice sized door dent (about 3 inches), and a good amount of the same colored blue paint. That day, the blue car was parked at the furthest end of the parking lot. I walked over there, and sure enough, red paint on their door.

I could care less about the dent, but seeing as we live next to each other, and it's the only blue car, at least leave a note. It's not like I don't know it was you!

actually, since the motivations behind each are subjective (you understand what this means, yes?) and completely internal, the satisfaction derived from each action is dependent on the person

for me, it felt great...i had to put down the load i was carrying, shuffle everything from one side of the car to the other (because i had specifically cleared the driver side in the back), and then crawl over my center console to get in, all because someone was, without provocation or valid reason, a lazy prick...so yeah, it felt AWESOME to give their car a solid dent...i think they probably learned a lesson
