Cool plug-ins do not exist.
But you might find Ad-Block Plus and CustomizeGoogle to be helpful. 2/20/2009 12:44:46 PM |

one of the scripts just makes non-premie posted pics large (.jpg -> .JPG I guess) the other supposedly relinks pictures to their actual location
[Edited on February 20, 2009 at 2:05 PM. Reason : ah, it has to do with relinking thumbnails I believe] 2/20/2009 2:05:14 PM |

I wish there was a plugin for firefox that automatically detected when you were going to make a thread on TWW and did a search for old threads that already existed on the topic. 2/20/2009 7:21:17 PM |

I like one called "downloadthemall"
it's a small download manager type thing. I basically got it so I could restart downloads where they left off instead of starting from scratch every time. Plus it seems a bit faster than just the built-in stuff and shows you realtime download speeds COOOL 2/20/2009 10:26:54 PM |

How does the TWW user blocker work exactly? Does it just not show the posts of certain users? Seems like that could lead to some confusion in longer threads 2/21/2009 7:33:36 AM |

Installed and active: Adblock Plus ChromiGlass (makes it look like Chrome) Download Statusbar (moves the download window into a Statusbar) Faviconize Tab (reduces tab widths to their favicon size) Fission (progress bar in the address bar like Safari) Foxmarks Bookmark sync Google Toolbar for Firefox Hide Menubar (until I press Alt - looks more like Chrome) Mouse Gestures Redox (one reason I came back from Chrome) Screen grab! (takes screenshots of portions or complete webpages - nice to send to people or keep archives) Stop-or-Reload button (saves screen real estate) Tab Mix Plus (main reason I came back from Chrome - control what tabs take focus, what launches in new tabs, etc.) URL Link (will let you highlight text that's not formatted as a link and go to that URL)
Installed but disabled (usually because they slow firefox down a lot): AnyColor (theming capabilities - too ugly for my taste) Auto Dial 6 (like Chrome's new tab page - didn't find I used it a lot) Better Flickr (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) Better GCal (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) Better GMail 2 (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) Better GReader (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) Better Youtube (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) Boss Key (I run another app that lets me minimize any app to tray so this addon was no longer useful to me) BugMeNot (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) CustomizeGoogle (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) Delicious Bookmarks (starting syncing using Foxmarks instead) DownThemAll! (only activate it when I want porn) Flashblock (slows things down - might re-enable if I start getting annoyed of pages) GMail notifier (have another app that does this outside the browser) Greasemonkey (slows shit down) GTDInbox (slows shit down and I don't work like that anyways) helvetireader (all these Greasemonkey scripts turned into extensions really kill Firefox's speed) It's All Text! (lets you edit textboxes in a text editor and sync it into your browser, for long posts, etc. - slows shit down) Locationbar2 (turns parts of the URL into links - not necessary) Nightly Tester Tools (only activate when I need to install add-ons that aren't compatible) NoScript (slows shit down but might re-enable if I run across annoying pages again) RAMBack (not necessary) Speed Dial (another of those Chrome-like start tabs - not necessary for me) Splash (not necessary when all these are disabled - Firefox doesn't take long to start up) Stealther (private browsing now built-in) Stylish (just like Greasemonkey but slows shit down just the same) Ubiquity (was all the craze a while ago but it's still under development)
i'm about to uninstall these ancient ones - I'm sure looking for updates for all of these slows shit down too 2/24/2009 11:32:33 AM |

I downloaded a new on yesterday that's a NCAA theme you can customize to your favorite team. I have a tab that takes me to the NCAA page, to the gopack.com men's basketball page, and then there's "video" "get gear" and "buy tickets" plus an NCAA news scrollbar that shouts headlines throughout the league. Very cool.
(There's one for college football, too. Whenever that season comes back) 2/24/2009 11:45:10 AM |

So why does it seem that IE tab is second only to ABP in popularity on here?
Are there really that many web developers on here that need to test out what pages look like in IE, or are you all just visiting so many sites that don't render properly in FF? I can honestly say that I haven't needed IE in over 3 years so I don't feel the need to install IE Tab anymore. 2/25/2009 11:18:32 PM |

If you're a web developer, try:
- ColorZilla: Ability to grab the hex/color values from anything. - Firebug: Better javascript/site error messages for debugging. - Web Developer: Lots of things that let you manipulate a web page for testing/debugging. 2/27/2009 10:31:07 AM |
