ok good! I dont want a st. bernard...her feet look tiny and you can usually tell if the dog is going to get big by the size of their feet as a puppy

What's your definition of "big" and "relatively small/medium."

I'm gonna guess that dog is gonna be bigger than 40lbs.

And feet size as a puppy is not always an accurate indicator.

Feet size is definitely not an accurate indicator. It might suggest, but you really can't base anything off of it.

I'd budget ~$1000 a year for food and chew toys.

Hell, since we are just voting. I vote it's a cat.

cat - 1

dog - 0

^ that is rediculous. if you buy chew toys made out of paper perhaps.

Maybe he's factoring in shoes and other valuable objects that people don't consider "chew toys" but dogs do.

^^^^ i've raised big dogs my whole life. so, unless you buy shit food and crappy toys, figure on about a grand over the course of a year. that's not a lot to ask when you are talking about an animal that could potentially break 100lbs.

and it's "ridiculous".

look at it this way- if someone is looking to break into your house and they see a goddamned horse of a dog in your living room with a head the size of a soccer ball, they may rethink cracking that lock.

it is too small to be a pure st. bernard... it def looks like it has some in it, but it is no doubt a mutt. looks like it may get big based on the size of its chest, but theres no way that dog gets anywhere NEAR 100 lbs.

she's also about 5-6 weeks old

my puppy had tiny feet when he was that age....so i thought "oh yay...he'll be medium sized"...

yeah...now...3 weeks later....they are the size of a golf ball

she'll be big

here is a border collie puppy... now compare it to the st. bernard puppy picture. it will be more like the size of a border collie IMO

shit you beat me to the exact picture???

and there are a lot of big differences between Collies and Boarder Collies...

size is definitely one of them...

Collies are not small dogs

these are collie puppies...which look nothing like that dog...

That puppy looks a helluva lot like my dog when she was a puppy. We know she had a Sheltie mother and as best we can tell, she had a Jack Russell/Mutt father. She looks like this now. About 40 pounds. Lean and lanky.

On second look, that puppy looks like it has a much broader chest than my dog. I wish I had puppy pictures of her.
