Does anyone know if I can get a ticket in NC for a missing sideview mirror on the passenger side? Due to being broke and time constraints, I can't get it fixed immediately. Any suggestions?

thanks!

let me clarify...the sideview mirror isn't "missing." it is detached because i hit a mailbox. it is not broken, just detached, and is awaiting reattachment...i have all the pieces...

If it's a truck, yes. If it's a car, you don't even have to replace it(though I use mine all the time).

If you're a female, will get you out of a ticket anyway.

Thank you. I don't know where you found that so quick because I've been looking all day with no luck. I take this to mean that I don't HAVE to have a passenger side view mirror. But this lets me know that if I get it fixed it better have adjustability, which unforunately on my 97 Honda Accord if electronic so I guess I"ll have to get it rewired...

Not entirely true about the factory requirement. If it has the base, then the whole mirror has to be there. If you do a mirror delete on the passenger side so there is no mounting provision, then you are also ok.

Pimply faced jiffy lube techs have told me this my entire life, but the only thing even remotely like this statement that I find in the inspectors manual is:

Quote :
"a) All original equipped rear lamps or the equivalent are not in
working order."

(Assuming you reattach it...) Do they really check that the adjustment works? And even if they do, would they fail you for the adjustment no longer working for the passenger side mirror? I can't say for sure, but that seems like something they'd be likely to let slide unless their boss is looking over their shoulder, or you're a dick about it...

I've never have one check it.

I've also only had like two inspections since 2002
