I worked in a pharmacy for a while, and the place was basically split into two groups: upper-middle class WASPs and lower-middle class blacks, all women. And then me, a middle-middle class white guy.

One day this new drug company paid for our lunch to be catered by some fancy place, and so we got these trays of really elaborate but not-particularly-appetizing food. The sandwiches had raisins in them. I don't know.

The WASPs were all giddy to be eating this high-end shit. I wasn't, so I went into the break room. There were all of the black people at the place, standing around the table and all staring at one of these trays like it had just come from outer space. Nobody said a word for about a minute. Finally the head black lady said, "Oh hell no. I'm going to Bojangles." Everyone started nodding.

And in the back of the room, my pasty ass blurts out, "I've found my people!"
