I was up in boone and there was a government taurus with a male plug underneath a spring loaded cover. It was located in the bottom part of the grille near where the foglights would be. Looked very professional.
Looks like you could just run a long extension cord to it and plug it in.
What is it and could I install one of those in my car? 2/27/2009 1:33:57 PM |

Around here it would be a waste of your money. Seriously.
You can get block heaters that will replace one of your block freeze plugs or one that goes in the dipstick tube, or one that goes in the lower radiator hose. Check out JC Whitney (JC worthless!)... 2/27/2009 1:45:52 PM |

you don't need those around here on gas motors. on diesels they really help. we are going to install them on 3 tractors with Perkins engines (no glow plugs) before next winter. nothing is more aggravating than trying to crank a diesel tractor when it's below freezing. ether helps, but too much of that can be bad news. 2/27/2009 5:50:57 PM |

Oh, whatever. Pistons are a consumable. 2/27/2009 7:39:10 PM |

Instead of the block heater, which I would want in the winter, I was thinking of a trickle charger setup or Hell have both and switch between them.
Think that would work? I leave my car sitting for a long time and to have this thing built in would be SWEET.
So I'm a dork, sue me. 2/27/2009 7:39:27 PM |
