I liked that they casted some "no-name" actors to play the roles with the intent that you don't look at the character and see another character that actor has played before.

except that rorschach and night owl II have been in a movie together, Little Children. not that anybody else who wants to see watchmen saw this movie, but i read the book so i watched on hbo the other day. jackie earle haley was a child molester who castrated himself at the end, and he really really fit the role well. it was disturbing. i can't see him as anything else now, esp not rorschach. he also seems too short to be rorschach, and has no neck.

the comedian is a whiny crying baby named denny on grey's anatomy, and judah on weeds.

I didn't say they weren't in other movies, they're just not big name actors.

i know, i'm just stating where i know them from and that especially rorschach is already burned into my mind as another character who i hated. it sucks since he's kind of the main dude for this movie.

maybe he'll wear risers in the movie, for authenticity.

i can't let it go b/c his character was that disturbing to me. i've never been that disgusted by a character in a movie before. plus, i only recently saw it.

The IMAX theatre in Raleigh will not be getting this movie while our current museum administration is still there. They are greatly opposed to anything rated R... But we weren't even offered the chance to show this movie by IMAX Corp, they said that it conflicted with the release of our next feature film "Monsters v. Aliens" on March 27, which they believe will be a bigger hit for our target demographic...

Night Owl I & II have both been in some pretty good movies.

NOI (Stephen McHattie) was pretty good in Shoot 'Em Up, and Patrick Wilson was perfect to play Raoul in Phantom of the Opera.

And I would not call Billy Crudup a no-name.

^^The best part of seeing a graphic novel put on the big screen is seeing how well the art design is transfered between the mediums. I didn't care much for the design of 300 in comparison to the graphic novel, but then you have movies like Sin City and V for Vendetta that were spectacular. So even if you haven't read throught the novel before seeing the film, I strongly suggest reading it after (because even if the movie blows, there is no doubt to the greatness of the novel).

I have high hopes for tonight. 5 more hours.

If an actor has trouble separating themselves from previous characters, then they are not a good actor (I don't look at Benjamin Button and see Tyler Durden, but Tom Cruise is always the fucking same)

BTW, I fucking hate the term "graphic novel." It's a fucking comic book. It's pure genius, yes, but it's still a comic.

Seriously...skeptical it will be good?
Seriously?

This dude has already made Sin City and 300 and has a graphic novel which you all apparently love to work with, how could he mess up? What does he have to do other than copy the damn thing using presentation similar to his previous outing?

STFU and go watch the movie, you know you will regardless

1. Zach Snyder did not direct Sin City.
2. There's way more here than visual style. In fact, the visual style of the Watchmen books is purposely on the generic side to draw attention to the nuances of the story.

And I keep my streak alive of ending up in front of the two cunts that can't keep their mouths shut during a movie. Every time I have gone to a midnight release, this has happened.
