3/5/2009 9:09:24 AM
I liked that they casted some "no-name" actors to play the roles with the intent that you don't look at the character and see another character that actor has played before.
3/5/2009 9:17:30 AM
waiting for ze imax
3/5/2009 9:19:17 AM
Yeah. I'm waiting for IMAX as well
3/5/2009 10:18:46 AM
i'm actually hoping not to see midnight tonight
3/5/2009 10:19:29 AM
will our IMAX get this movie since it has a rating of R?i know its been discussed in the watchmen thread but i cant remember
3/5/2009 10:58:38 AM
i think the conclusion that was reached was that it would not get it, but not b/c it was rated R.
3/5/2009 11:06:35 AM
That blue dude looks really gay. He's just missing one of these on his chest:
3/5/2009 11:07:46 AM
3/5/2009 11:15:24 AM
rorschach was in The Bad News Bears and night owl II was the other hot ass Irish guy in P.S., I Love You
3/5/2009 11:19:02 AM
I didn't say they weren't in other movies, they're just not big name actors.
3/5/2009 11:28:11 AM
i know, i'm just stating where i know them from and that especially rorschach is already burned into my mind as another character who i hated. it sucks since he's kind of the main dude for this movie.
3/5/2009 11:29:33 AM
why cant you just let it go
3/5/2009 11:30:09 AM
3/5/2009 11:30:38 AM

3/5/2009 11:34:19 AM
i can't let it go b/c his character was that disturbing to me. i've never been that disgusted by a character in a movie before. plus, i only recently saw it.
3/5/2009 11:35:32 AM
I've got tickets to see it tomorrow night. I'd go tonight but I don't want to be sleepy when I see it.excccittteeddd
3/5/2009 11:36:39 AM
Steve, D is in charlotte tonight & going to the saucer for one of his co-workers b-days. you should give him a call!
3/5/2009 11:37:48 AM
The IMAX theatre in Raleigh will not be getting this movie while our current museum administration is still there. They are greatly opposed to anything rated R... But we weren't even offered the chance to show this movie by IMAX Corp, they said that it conflicted with the release of our next feature film "Monsters v. Aliens" on March 27, which they believe will be a bigger hit for our target demographic...
3/5/2009 11:43:16 AM
damn it wtf
3/5/2009 11:44:33 AM
!
3/5/2009 11:45:07 AM
Night Owl I & II have both been in some pretty good movies.NOI (Stephen McHattie) was pretty good in Shoot 'Em Up, and Patrick Wilson was perfect to play Raoul in Phantom of the Opera. And I would not call Billy Crudup a no-name.
3/5/2009 1:47:45 PM
WHO ARE YOU DRESSING AS????
3/5/2009 1:48:11 PM
3/5/2009 1:59:06 PM
I'm going with a bunch of friends to see it. Never read the book though.
3/5/2009 1:59:33 PM
Goddammit.
3/5/2009 2:33:00 PM
^^The best part of seeing a graphic novel put on the big screen is seeing how well the art design is transfered between the mediums. I didn't care much for the design of 300 in comparison to the graphic novel, but then you have movies like Sin City and V for Vendetta that were spectacular. So even if you haven't read throught the novel before seeing the film, I strongly suggest reading it after (because even if the movie blows, there is no doubt to the greatness of the novel).I have high hopes for tonight. 5 more hours.
3/5/2009 6:52:52 PM
hmmm, I would like to go see the midnite showing here in the Triad but I don't/won't go to the movies by myself.
3/5/2009 7:01:32 PM
^^ Brad Pitt?
3/5/2009 7:11:32 PM
BTW, I fucking hate the term "graphic novel." It's a fucking comic book. It's pure genius, yes, but it's still a comic.
3/5/2009 7:14:50 PM
THANK YOU!it's like calling G.I. Joe an action figure....it's still a freaking doll [Edited on March 5, 2009 at 7:16 PM. Reason : asdf]
3/5/2009 7:15:53 PM
Seriously...skeptical it will be good?Seriously? This dude has already made Sin City and 300 and has a graphic novel which you all apparently love to work with, how could he mess up? What does he have to do other than copy the damn thing using presentation similar to his previous outing?STFU and go watch the movie, you know you will regardless
3/5/2009 7:27:44 PM
1. Zach Snyder did not direct Sin City.2. There's way more here than visual style. In fact, the visual style of the Watchmen books is purposely on the generic side to draw attention to the nuances of the story.
3/5/2009 7:32:28 PM

3/6/2009 2:53:28 AM
And I keep my streak alive of ending up in front of the two cunts that can't keep their mouths shut during a movie. Every time I have gone to a midnight release, this has happened.
