This has been in the works for a while right? I seem to remember reading about this during the summer, guess it was just a matter to get all the paper work in order and finally officially announce the sanctions. Hopefully it will help us dominate our division. 3/6/2009 6:40:07 PM |

Does this mean we get credited for a win in 2007, or do both teams get a loss?
If the former, that puts us at 6-6...do we get a bowl bid now? 3/6/2009 7:20:07 PM |

Quote : | "In November 2007, Florida State and the NCAA agreed that athletes who had received "improper help" would be suspended for 30 percent of their seasons. According to the Orlando Sentinel, officials interviewed 75 individuals, and 39 admitted receiving improper assistance in an online music course. Roughly two dozen football players were suspended for the Music City Bowl, which FSU lost 35-28 to Kentucky. The Seminoles also suspended about 10 players for the first three games of the 2008 season." |
Really? Online music course?3/6/2009 7:20:22 PM |

So they'll still be on our schedule next year, right? They're just on probation for now. 3/6/2009 8:17:12 PM |

if they do take away bowden's wins, would they also take away other stuff? i cant recall, but i'm assuming they won at least 1 bowl game during that 2 year stretch, do they take that away too? cause if not, it seems pointlessly non-retroactive 3/6/2009 8:20:23 PM |

Of course they'll be on our schedule. They got probation, not the death penalty.3/6/2009 8:24:31 PM |

Does this mean they aren't going to the NCAA Tourney this year?

^^^,^^ the article was implying that the ncaa doesn't like to limit post-season play these days, that they're more apt to reduce the number of scholarships allowed for a few years. maybe that was just for football though.
