i've recently been thinking about changing my desk & chair / room set up so i can be more comfortable - right now, i work here, play games here, eat here, write/homework here, and relax here.

i haven't really decided anything - just have some ideas that i want to throw out there and see what people think would be the best solution and the best products to use. i was kind of inspired by this dude: http://lifehacker.com/5163142/custom-wire-management-for-multi+monitor-bliss - just to customize my workspace for what i use it for.

what i have right now--
L-shaped desk - on top of the desk are a desk pad that i write on & eat on (while watching movies or whatever), an LCD monitor, and a printer (although the printer is WiFi so i can put it anywhere). under the desk is just the PC
chair - like this: http://www.techbargains.com/news_displayItem.cfm/155756 but the padding in the seat wears out after a year so it's uncomfortable now
leg rest - like an ottoman but cheaper from walmart to prop my feet up during a movie

my dream--
somehow set up like a dentist's setup where he can slide in random instruments and slide them out so i would have my LCD attached to one of these arms and i could slide it in when i needed it and away when i no longer did, the keyboard and mouse would be on two arms and i could slide those in when needed and it would all be high-tech like i would be leaning back and the

the plausible idea for now--
1) get rid of the L-shaped desk and the chair
2) debating whether i should go for something like this for the desk: http://www.roccafortesales.com and a mesh chair with a foam seat cushion or something
or go with 3) a recliner couch and something like this http://www.ergoslope.com/store/home.php on top of a normal desk

i'm spending about 10-12 hours in front of a PC daily and sometimes more if the project load calls for it; i might as well make it comfortable.

I know right? Who would ever want to buy a Fujifilm camera or printer?

Or a laptop from ASUS.

Or a Mac Mini from Apple?

Gosh, things on that website are stupid.

Protip: If you have to tell people it's a joke...it's not a joke.

back on topic...

I, too, am considering a new desk chair. I've had my existing one for a while, and it's never quite been comfortable to me. I end up avoiding sitting at my desk as a result. I'm considering replacing it with something like this, from OfficeMax:

That's still pretty cheap for a real, ergonomic desk chair. Anything from officemax/depot/staples is going to be Chinese garbage that might last you a couple of years. Your better off spending the money on a Herman miller chair, and just having a normal desk.

I got to demo a bunch of those personal office setup that bigman posted. After 5 minutes the novelty wore off completely. And if you have one in your house, you can forget about sex with any female until it has been removed.

I think sit4less.com is the HM online seller

why does novelty matter if it's a quality chair?
