if I remember correctly....

you go in to the new place, have them port your #, and then your old service gets automatically canceled.

I might be dreadfully wrong though...

my service with verizon was cancelled as soon as i switched the number over to at&t. i didn't have to do anything with verizon.

I can't port over my number really. My current number is from my home town and since they don't offer service in that area, I can only port it to the iDEN (Nextel HAHA) netwrok, and not the PCS network.

^ Nah, I just don't want to go through the hassle, I might be able to canel online, but I doubt. I'll check on that though.
