The Outer Banks are pretty big. What area are you staying in?

If that's all you're looking for just look for a place in your price range. There isn't a whole lot out there other than beach and more beach

overpriced movie theater, some places to rent jet skis, lot of restaurants to go to, fishing piers...
the movie theater is a little farther north in Kitty hawk i think. The jet ski rental place are a little farther south... maybe look for somewhere right in the middle, around kill devil hills... just look anywhere from south nags head to kitty hawk and find the cheapest joint

for night entertainment you pretty much have Outer Banks Brewing Station and Kelly's, in terms of what's open right now. A little more upscale but still fun if a band is going is Prime Only. It doesn't really matter where you stay, any of the places listed aren't going to be more than 10-15 minutes away.

Most jet ski or any outdoor places are closed until the end of the month at the earliest, with equipment rental places not getting going until at least mid-April usually.

I like to hang at Tortuga's and then stumble into Lucky 12. But last Time I was in Lucky I thought I was going leave in a body bag

If you're only going for the weekend, and you're looking for a place with entertainment, why not do Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, Atlantic Beach, or something like that? OBX is a much longer drive, and probably less to do. Granted, there are many other things to recommend the Outer Banks (I've only been once but I loved it), but they're not the first place I'd look for a weekend getaway.

Day: Drink, bake, look at shit to poke on.
Night: Drink, find something to poke on, poke on something.

there aren't really any fishing piers worth a damn left

there are some decent tourist piers, but no fishing piers

Lately all I've felt like doing is some mindless serious fucking.

Find a couple of wild local women and have at it.

Just wrap it first...

lunch at Tortuga's.

dinner at Red Drum.

breakfast at any of the pancake spots.

cheese fries at captn franks.

other than that, now it's just another beach overrun with knick-knack beach shit shops and pharmacies.

Check out Duck, check out downtown Manteo, cuss through the traffic getting from one to the other.

OH! lunch at John's in KDH, too. that's a must. go to the beach either in Southern Shores (north of KH pier), or south of about MP8. everything in between there is eroded up to the failing housing.

go to a show at the Pit and take home a couple of high school chicks.

just fyi, the theater is in kdh and jockey's ridge is in nags head.

I'm personally not a fan of the bars here (or the people that frequent them) so I don't go out.

If you've never been, just be a tourist. Go see the lighthouses (currituck, bodie isl, hatteras, even the small one in manteo if you want), go fishing if that's your thing, hang at the beach if its nice out (I personally like pea island)...it really just depends on what you want to do. manteo has some cool local shops, as does duck (if that's your thing). you can always go hike through nags head woods or jockeys ridge if you like being outside.

you should (if you go to nags head) drive on the beach road and look at the old cottages.

a lot of those houses have been there since at LEAST the early 1900s. i think they are really cool. i like driving down beach road instead of the highway. i mean, with all the traffic on the highway, the beach road isn't THAT much slower.

The best part of going to OBX is not doing anything at all. Just sit back and relax. Or go to the aquarium; alligators rule.

The aquarium is pretty cool, good point. And IIRC the brewpub that makes Weeping Radish is in Manteo as well, isn't it?

haha, thats where I got married (The Aquarium... out on the sound)

South of the bridge coming from Manteo, on the hatteras national seashore, you can have a fire on the beach... I think it has to be below the high tide line

weeping radish closed their manteo location. They have a big place up in Currituck now.
