Over the past few years, we have collected a lot of old, bald tires (10-15). I'd like to dispose of them properly (i.e. keeping them out of the landfill), but would rather not pay the $3+/tire disposal fee. Anyone know of any other options? Thanks! 3/16/2009 3:24:09 PM |

Wake county dump takes them on certain days of the week.
Or, just throw them in the tire pile beside a tire shop 3/16/2009 3:36:37 PM |

This place takes them for free, just leave them at the end of the driveway at the curb.

yeah, i heard the owner of that place then takes them directly to clayton and disposes of them through the windows of multiple land rovers. 3/16/2009 5:17:19 PM |

Wake Cty will take 5 at a time for free... although it would be more fun to leave a few for each of you hooligans I wonder if a fiddy sized tire counts as 1... and the chopped up motorcycle tire that had to be cut off my SV in pieces after the burnout contest They're all making nice driveway ornaments for now. 3/16/2009 7:55:52 PM |

That shit would get stuffed into a garbage bag deep in my garbage can.3/17/2009 11:55:16 AM |

Most of them are too big to fit in the garbage... a dumpster would work, but I would much rather them be recycled in some way. I love my gas guzzler, so I try to do what I can elsewhere to lessen my overall footprint. With the amount of shit we use/waste, soon enough we will be surrounded by mound of garbage like Idiocracy on Comedy Central... I'd like to contribute as little as possible.
Thanks for the suggestions... 3/17/2009 12:44:38 PM |
