probably so if you liked 2K8

or if you have a 360 and want a baseball game since this is the only one

the demo is definitely worth downloading through XBL Marketplace to give you an idea of how the game is

Are either 2k9 or The Show going to be on Wii? I liked the Bigs but I'm sure there can be much better.

yeah i wasnt even planning on stealing either lol

when i threw you out stealing 2nd, that seems like its easier to do than 2k8

seems like the base stealing in general favors the fielders more than the runners in this game compared to 2k8

it's kind of like real life, where you have to basically get bored with trying to pick a guy off and let him take a lead or catch a pitcher snoozing to really get a simple steal

I've yet to really have a good steal off someone

playing online is pretty damn laggy but it's the first baseball game I've ever played online.. is this good for a baseball game (online play) or bad?

i thought it was pretty good...not too laggy overall...there were a couple times when it got jittery with the graphics, but never when i was pitching or batting...dont recall any lag messing up my pitching or batting

not quite as flawless as COD4 or something, but pretty solid online

i dont think there is

but theres an option to update rosters and stats every day with an XBL connection based on actual MLB stats and rosters...i think they call it "Living Rosters"...sounds pretty cool

haha i created a player who is fat as shit and named him Rusty Kuntz...mind you the game has name lists, so i just put in like Ru and then picked Rusty and then put in Ku and picked Kuntz from the list...then I go to upload the player DNA and i get the following message:

"Your Player DNA contains inappropriate language and cannot be shared with others until you clean it up."

lolz

must be to discourage people from infinitely delaying gameplay and trying to get you to quit and give them a win i guess

anybody done the home run derby mode where you go up against the top 20 HR hitters from last season? i'm stuck on david ortiz...i have tried hamilton, thome, dye, berkman against him but he always wins...and in this mode i cant use ryan howard or prince fielder or anybody until i unlock them in this game mode

Not really but that's a different arguement and God knows I don't wanna start one with you.

Pretty simple if you own a PS3 The Show is by far the best baseball game.

^not arguing with that, i wish the show was available on 360 but we have to settle for this game, which isnt terrible by itself, but i've seen clips of the show and i wish it were available on 360

I wonder why baseball reference has them listed as the Senators in 1906?

those are definitely the uniforms

they look pretty snazzy on my created player, starting pitcher Spitball Jones

he's 6'11" of 99mph fastballs and 88 mph slurves, mixed in with the occasional 70mph knuckler and 58mph epheus pitch

^and i dunno about the Senators thing...might be similar to the New Orleans Hornets hanging Pete Maravich's jersey in the rafters, even though he never played for that franchise

I got this on Wii, which unfortunately doesn't have online play, but the game play is pretty awesome. It is hard to hit damn near everything, because you have to concentrate on aiming the swing while making sure you swing at the right time. Bat speed is also a huge factor.

As hard as hitting is, pitching is that easy. There isn't much of a difference from pitcher to pitcher other than signature wind ups and deliveries, but location and speed control don't vary.

I've played through a full month of a season and I have the best record with the league's worst offense...meaning I manage to score a single run and just pitch well enough to win.

2 things piss me off about this game:
1) every outfielder plays like a gold glover...every single player is capable of climbing the wall for catches and diving way beyond real-life ranges

2) the soundtrack has maybe 4 songs total, which would be fine if they didn't play "Final Countdown" in the 4th fucking inning. I can understand bottom of the 9th, but this is ridiculous.

what frustrates me most is that you have to shake the controller to sprint on the basebath, but the problem is it is verys imilar to the motion for sliding. So everytime I try to run fast enough to get around the bases, I slide. I've had countless triples turn into singles that way because the guy slides into 1st.

dan haren has one of the most annoying windups I've seen since oldie teams MVP 2004. I quit that match immediately.

for me, it's getting way too easy to 1) get into the head of opponents and almost taunt them by not even moving your bat and 2) see ball, hit ball.

I'll break .500 soon!
