i've put my recovery cd's in my cpu to reformat the cpu but it does not seem to be picking up on the cd's.
what could i be doing wrong? i've used the recovery cd's on another cpu and it worked fine. the cds were actually for this cpu.
if the reformatting does not work...how can i simply clean the cpu off and start over? 4/2/2009 9:42:38 PM |

this post makes my head hurt.
first of all, you probably need to go into your BIOS and change the boot order so your optical drive is before your hard drive. alternatively, if your system gives you the option to press a key to select a boot device at POST (usually F12 or something like that), do that, and select your optical drive.
if you don't know what any of that means, tell us who manufactured your computer and its model number.
please don't refer to your system as a "CPU." the CPU is the little thing inside of the case (in a socket on your motherboard) that does all the actual processing. you can't put CDs in a CPU, nor can you reformat one.
reformatting == "clean[ing] [it] off and start[ing] over," essentially.] 4/2/2009 9:52:36 PM |

Unplug it from the wall. Leave it for about a month. It just needs to work through some personal issues. 4/3/2009 7:47:15 AM |
