^I don't want to say this because it really hampers newer users from freely posting, but regardless of the 'attn' rule, the first link was posted a while ago.
the second link would have made a fine topic. i really wish it he'd been betting on sports, but he's of legal age and he has every right to do it. if he can make $ playing craps, i envy him. 4/3/2009 12:38:41 AM |

Damn. He claims to have won at least $500 every time he gambles except one time. I need to go the the Lawson school of gambling. 4/3/2009 9:13:29 AM |

Yeah, this makes such a big statement against betting on the NCAA tournament. [/sarcasm]4/3/2009 9:32:40 AM |

The flash game is worthless. About a month ago they reset the scores when someone out there made NCSU dominate - by like a 70 million point margin. Then they ketp resetting the scores at random intervals while NCSU continued to dominate, so it quickly became meaningless (even more so than before). 4/3/2009 9:39:57 AM |

Roy Williams was literally bragging about gambling at multiple tournament sites...what a fucking moron
Quote : | ""I talked to them before they left," Williams said Friday. "They're both old enough. It is legal. I find it humorous that somebody would want to ask. It's strange. If we don't want these kids doing it, don't put the Final Four in a city where the casino is 500 yards from our front door."
Williams admitted he gambled in one of the casinos earlier this week, too.
"I have zero problem with Ty doing it," Williams said.
Williams said he gambled in one of the Detroit casinos before the Tar Heels played Michigan State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Ford Field on Dec. 3. Williams lost money at the craps table, but the Tar Heels won the game, 98-63. Williams said he gambled in a casino in Reno, Nev., too, when UNC played at Nevada on New Year's Eve Day. Williams lost money again throwing the dice, but UNC beat the Wolf Pack, 84-61.
"You got to be a halfway idiot if you think I'm not going to go gamble and lose money before this game," Williams said. "I have gambled and I have lost. I'm doing every dadgum thing I can do to win the game, including giving Detroit money."
Connectict coach Jim Calhoun said he banned his players from going into the casinos this week. Michigan State senior Travis Walton said Spartans coach Tom Izzo told his players the same thing, and Villanova guard Scottie Reynolds said none of the Wildcats' players have gambled this week." |

^^yeah I'm sure the NCAA loves one of its top coaches bragging about gambling...I'm sure the NCAA has no reservations whatsoever about that... 4/4/2009 2:21:36 PM |

but that doesn't make it illegal.
So let me get this straight. Coaches and players engage in a perfectly legal activity while attending a NCAA tournament and people go apeshit
Millions of people across America filled out brackets betting on the SAME NCAA TOURNAMENT which is illegal and that's perfectly OK. Well I mean, I'm sure the NCAA does have some reservations about it.....

theres a huge difference in fans betting on the tourney, and players and coaches gambling

I don't see the problem as long as they are not gambling on sports.
It's perfectly legal. As Roy put it in the article, if the NCAA was that worried about it why did the NCAA put the teams pretty much across the street from the casinos. 4/4/2009 4:01:03 PM |
