I'm looking at the DICE silverline: http://www.europeanautosource.com/product_info.php?products_id=1624
Does anyone know of any other ipod integrators for a 2002 530i???? Or maybe heard good/bad things about the DICE? 4/6/2009 9:55:15 PM |

Alpine iDA-X305. It is compatible with your car per Crutchfield.

I have the previous model of this and I absolutely love it. The buttons on this newer model look a little funky compared to mine (I like my layout better) but it has awesome Ipod integration and shows album artwork and is the easiest when it comes to searching your Ipod's catalog. You simply jog the wheel (and you can just jog and hold and it continues to scroll, not manual continuous turning) and it scrolls through like your ipod touch pad would and press the button in just like youd press the center button on your Ipod.
Has about the same menu structure: can play sort by artist, album, song, put it on random by album or song, recognizes playlists from your Ipod, yadda yadda yadda.
I have had the last model for awhile now and I absolutely love it. Best thing I've done to my car because I drive a lot and listen to a lot of music. It connects via the USB port so the audio is crystal clear and also can hook up to USB jumpdrives or full harddrives if you want as well.
Highly recommended to spend the $300 and get this over the one you linked. I had a friend get a Panasonic one very similar to the one you linked and, while he liked it, once he saw mine he returned his and got this and loves it. He spent about $100 more but says it was worth it. 4 of my friends +me all have this now and all of us have loved it.
Only negative that some people might have would be that it has no CD portion without getting an add-on, but I have no need for one at all now.

unfortunately bmw's come stock with a full console type system like this:
in my experience not the most conducive environment for a new receiver...they usually don't look good.
thanks for the input on the DICE. I think that's where I'm headed. 4/6/2009 11:45:58 PM |

understandable. For whats its worth, the colors can change. All the other lights and stuff in my car are red like yours so I changed the backlighting and the screen background to match the rest of my interior lights 4/7/2009 12:39:02 AM |
