This thing is supposed to be instant (no buffering) and high quality. I get like 2 or 3 fps at a quality so poor I can't discern what I'm looking at. This is on a 10Mbps connection. Anyone else have this problem? 4/7/2009 9:30:40 PM |

I just tried it out. Looks pretty impressive to me. And I've only got 3Mbps DSL. After I fast forwarded for a while, the picture was pretty pixelated (although the picture quality was still about as good as YouTube) for a few seconds until the buffer for HQ video could fill up. But yeah, looks about like DVD quality video when I full screen it. No buffering or stuttering here. 4/7/2009 10:03:50 PM |

I bet if you turn off HW video acceleration in your DirectShow preferences it would work.
Or see if you can right-click the video stream and disable HW acceleration. 4/8/2009 12:28:11 AM |

The only problem that I have with it is sometimes when I pause it the window minimizes and it doesn't give me the option to resume playing. I do like ABC's player much better. 4/8/2009 12:42:53 AM |

processor and video card? When playing that high quality video those things need to be up to the task. My parent's computer, for instance, hates playing any flash video outside of regular quality youtube videos and it's just because it's old and has a crap video card in it. 4/8/2009 9:40:36 AM |

^ yeah but sometimes there's a weird driver conflict where the CPU does a better job of decoding than the HW accel stuff. 4/8/2009 10:43:52 AM |

works great here on a Macbook Pro on TWC. I wouldnt say DVD quality, but pretty darn good. Do you have to specify HQ somehow? I just watched a bit of a Terminator episode.
I'm sure the real vid is buffering while the low quality 2 minute ad plays. 4/8/2009 10:59:11 AM |

I can play 8 720p videos at the same time with no problems. It's definitely something to do with the player.4/8/2009 6:04:14 PM |

They just call it a video player. Don't know what it is. I'll try hulu. 4/9/2009 10:58:19 PM |
