I just bought a new ipod touch, 2nd generation & was looking to jailbreak it. After some googling, I can't seem to find a legitimate source/files to download. The Quickpwn people say they've got it in development, but have yet to release it as far as I can tell. Anyone have any success doing this? I'd appreciate any help! 5/3/2009 10:03:20 PM |

So are all jailbreaking methods created equal? Really new to this whole idea 5/3/2009 10:24:53 PM |

no.
there are other people who basically steal the dev team's ideas and release hacks that can potentially upgrade your phone to a point where you might not be able to unlock/jailbreak it in the future.
http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ is the only place you should ever go for jailbreak/unlock info. that's the official dev team site.
the dev team is behind redsn0w and yellowsn0w.] 5/3/2009 10:32:41 PM |

Thanks for everything! Got it jailbroken last night using Redsnow, works great. I spent most of the night searching the repositories for apps. 5/4/2009 10:05:36 AM |
