damn. Rumors are surfacing that the volkswagen concept bluesport isn't going to make it to production. I realize these stories are a bit off-the-cuff and based on an unofficial comment, but I really want this car to make it to production, in any form, especially after driving a toyota mr2 this past week. My next car is going to be mid-engined, maximum 3000 lbs but preferably 2500 lbs or less and if nothing is available on the new car market, I may have to turn to kit cars. fingers crossed.

(yes, Noen, I'm aware that there are plenty of sub-2k-lb elises and exiges out there. I saw an elise listed for $27k buy-it-now on ebay a little while ago. I like it but I'd be willing to give up the nth degree of weightsaving for a passenger sill low enough that my gf won't complain about getting into/ out of it so that I could drive it most of the time rather than merely every-once-in-a-while. Plus, DSG is just frickin addictive AND convenient when in stop-n-go annoying traffic. Right now, the only other ways to get a dual-clutch trans in a mid-engined car are the artega GT, the cayman PDK, veyron.... and I think thats it. Oh, and a ktm x-bow. So, yeah, a sub-30k price point with a diesel would KICK ASS. )
