About two months ago, my sisters and I hosted an adoption fair for dogs and cats. There was a pregnant cat who did not find a home, and she was scheduled to be put down the next day, so my sister took her home with her. She delivered a litter of three kittens two days later. All four are up for adoption, and we would like to find them homes soon. They are all eating dry food and using the litter box. They have not gotten any shots, but they have been dewormed.
I've put pictures in my gallery.
Kitty is the momma cat. We think she's a little over a year old. She's very affectionate and loving, doesn't make a mess anywhere, and she LOVES to eat.
"Beans" is the only boy of the group. He was all black originally, but his hair is starting to grow gray in some areas. We aren't sure if he'll end up being a black cat, a gray cat or a smoke black cat, but for right now he's black with pretty blue eyes. He is probably the most mischevious and playful of the bunch. He loves to be around people, he loves to hop in and out of shoes, and he loves to take flying leaps onto random pieces of furniture/people. But he also really likes to snuggle too. He's really outgoing, and probably my favorite of the group. He's also the smallest.
"Butters" is the black and white female. Her name was originally Butter Ball because she has a fat kitten tummy, but it was shortened for simplicity. She's pretty active too, but not as outgoing as Beans. She prefers to play quietly, or run up and down the stairs instead of leaping on random things. She loves to be held and really gets along well with people.
"Patches" is the tortoise female. She's very fluffy, and I think she's going to turn out really pretty. She is a special kitty. She is shy, but not skittish, if that makes sense. She's really sweet and loves to be held. She runs sideways instead of in a straight line, and she jumps at random intervals like something has scared her. She also likes to turn over baskets and things and sit underneath them.
Please let me know if anyone is interested. These really are great kittens. They've been in a loving home, so you shouldn't have to worry about any shelter diseases, but they're still a rescue, because they would have all been put down. They've been around dogs (chihuahua and a beagle) and have spent just a few minutes outside. So, they really are accustomed to a lot of things. If I didn't already have three rescue cats, I would certainly take one!
They're in Greensboro right now, but if anyone would like to see them, we can meet anywhere between Williamston and Raleigh or Raleigh and Greensboro. 5/27/2009 10:00:25 AM |

^The story behind Blackberry and Blueberry... My sister's husband came home and checked the mail, and the two kittens had been left in their mailbox. They were maybe four weeks old at that point. Now they're super chubby kittens around 8 or 9 weeks old who live in the garage mostly, but run around outside with the puppies during the day. They are on dry food and litter box trained. 5/27/2009 10:46:03 AM |
