Shannon, you dork!

That TWW baby is not really a baby anymore. And that's his little sister in the background.

Anybody have cloth diaper recommendations? We were thinking of going with Bumgenius.

We use cloth. Sweetbottoms has a rental program if you want to try a few brands out. My favorite are softbums and my cheapies from justsimplybaby.com but I have some BG free time and 4.0. Both are good. Do you want pockets or all in ones? Or you can do hybrids and covers or prefolds or flats and covers. So many to choose from! My husband hates side snaps, like bottom bumpers and grovia, so I sold those. They have a great resale value. If you guys use Facebook check out the triangle cloth diaperers page. Lots of people selling used stuff and lots of good info and a great place to ask questions.

Any of you parents have advice for babies and dogs? We just brought our little girl home yesterday and our dogs are super interested in her. If she cries our girl dog just goes nuts, she is the smarter dog of the two, the other just kinda goes with the flow and doesn't think a whole lot. It seems like she (dog) is trying to be protective but I am worried about the best and safest way to introduce the baby to her.

My sister got us a 3 pack of NCSU football onesies from Target I think.

RattlerRyan

Did you see my post about cloth diapers? We use cloth and I'd be happy to answer any questions. There is one other user that does cloth as well. Can't remember who. Will check my PMs.

Best place for NCSU baby gear that I have found is actually Kmart. Target is good when they have things in stock, but Kmart has a huge selection. Just got to find an open Kmart!

Congrats scotieb24!

skywalkr, we put some of the baby's clothes in the dog's room so he could get used to the smell. then we slowly introduced them after a few days. definitely do it after taking the dog on a run/to the dog park/etc. so your dog is pretty tired and not extremely excited. this helps ease the introduction along.

Thanks, that is kind of what we did. We got a cloth that they used to clean her up after she was born and brought that home to the dogs so they could smell that (it was recommended by the hospital actually) and then we have been very slowly introducing her. One of our dogs doesn't really care too much (he isn't the brightest crayon in the box) but the other one thinks she just had a baby. If the baby cries she goes bonkers and seems to really want to be there to "help". Still iffy on how close I will let her get because I don't want anything to go wrong but I think they are starting to get used to her being around. I laid the kiddo in her crib and let the dog in the room so she could look at her and sniff without any worries and I think that helped, plus I got this really great picture:

Hey all you new and future parents. The kid I watch in my home is moving to Minnesota in July. Anyone need a nanny? My kid is almost one and I kind of rock at my job.

Skywalkr I jabe a golden and I didn't really let her near him until about a month ago. She could be in the same room, smell his stuff, hear him cry, etc but no close contact. Then I held him and let her sniff his toys. She's a very gentle dog by nature but I kept a very close eye on them. After a lot of time with this type of contact I finally had my dog lay on the ground and let my son lay on his stomach on her belly while I held him. She could turn her head to him but he was too far away for her nose to get too close. They both did really well.

She gets very concerned when he cries and will come to check him out. Sammy is so fascinated by her that he often stops crying by just watching her. He loves to smile and giggle at her as well. It just takes time but I'm sure you'll do fine, dogs tend to know things. Savannah acted much differently with me when I was pregnant, very gentle and always by my side.
