Unfortunately my phone was caught out in the rain today, and now the flash will not turn off. I've tried disabling it through the settings with no luck. Only way to get it to turn off is removing the battery.
Any thoughts? Or do I have to take it to a shop? Ugh.
Never mind, can delete the thread. None of the buttons on the right side work anymore (3, 6, 9, #) so guess I have to purchase a new one.
Fan-f*cking-tastic.

Before letting electrolysis set in and ruin everything, you need to remove the battery. Get a small torx driver and take the case apart and let everything dry out. You can use distilled water or isopropyl alcohol for cleaning most things in electronics when they're powered off. 6/4/2009 3:14:35 AM |

The problem is that the phone was on while getting wet, so I believe any shorting out that would have occurred has already happened
I did take the battery out and let it dry out over night, and it's still doing the same thing this morning 6/4/2009 6:49:39 AM |

I ruined my mogul this way. I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I had been vury irresponsible the night before and somehow slept through work waking up still drunk, my phone had been exposed to water damage, but I had something like 20 messages and no way to check them so the phone worked long enough for me to check them all.
Then I lost the speaker, then the mic, then the bezel leds, then 90% of the buttons. I ordered a replacement fascia and the LEDs started working again but not the buttons. 6/4/2009 7:34:18 AM |
