is there any way to pack more than 16 ports in an etherchannel on a stack of 2 3750s? i'm guessing the answer is no, but i figured i'd ask. this is running ip services 12.2(50)se2.
i have Gi1/0/2-10 and Gi2/0/1-7 in an etherchannel... i try to add Gi2/0/8-10 and it won't let me...

% Range command terminated because it failed on GigabitEthernet2/0/8 " |
which is obviously explained by

Group: 1 ---------- Group state = L2 Ports: 16 Maxports = 16 Port-channels: 1 Max Port-channels = 16 Protocol: LACP Minimum Links: 0 " | ]6/9/2009 10:28:42 PM |

why in the world would you do such a thing? 6/9/2009 11:12:21 PM |

because i don't have any 10gb fiber readily available near the rack these switches are in... i have plenty of copper, though.
this is for an iscsi target, so i figured why not go for a redundant 10gbps uplink to the core fabric ] 6/9/2009 11:17:22 PM |

Probably so he could post a bunch of malarkey on TWW. 6/9/2009 11:17:43 PM |

Indeed. If you could configure more, it'd be in the manual.

^quite aware of what the manual says... and, in fact, my original post reflects this.
i just wanted to ask in the off chance there was something weird i could do in lieu of this. no malarkey - i'm not even sure what that would accomplish...
why do you have to be such a douche to everyone?

Catalyst 3750 series switches support both Layer 2 and Layer 3 EtherChannel, with up to eight compatibly configured Ethernet interfaces
The EtherChannel can be formed with interfaces on any switch and across switches within a single switch stack
The Catalyst 3750 series switches support a maximum of 12 EtherChannels with configuration on a stack if the switch runs Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1. The Catalyst 3750 series switches can support a maximum of 48 etherchannels on the switch stack if the switch runs Cisco IOS Software Release12.2 or later. 6/10/2009 10:56:54 AM |

yeah, that's what i thought. 8 for each switch, so 16, which means i have to do 2 etherchannels. 6/10/2009 11:03:52 AM |
