Yeah, its about a dude with a big dick

But Thomas Jane is badass and the previews look good

Starts in a few weeks I think...hopefully it can be at least half as good as EBAD

I saw this on the HBO website the other day, it looks intriguing...there's no way it'll be as good as EB&D though

This is the dumbest premise for a show I've ever heard.

I'll try it out. The pilot is directed by Alexander Payne.

Trailer on http://www.hbo.com/hung/

Starts on June 28th.

Premiered last night and I enjoyed it.

What did everyone else think? I didn't see it in the Punisher, but Thomas Jane looks a lot like Aaron Eckhart.

Should be good though, I set my DVR for it.

I stuck around after True Blood to watch it and wasn't disappointed that I did. BTW who does everyone think the person in the hotel room slipping him the notes was?

^^it would be funny, but too predictable, if it was his ex-wife.

I have a feeling we'll find out soon and may be someone from his school.

I thought the first episode was pretty horrible. I hate shows that are depressing and this show made me want to off myself with a quickness.

I'll probably watch a couple more episodes to see if things turn around, but if it doesn't do a complete 180, I won't make myself suffer through it for too long. I have a bad habit of watching HBO shows regardless of how bad they are just because they're HBO (as evidenced by the fact that I watched the entire runs of Lucky Louie and John from Cincinnati) but I don't think I can take much more of this show if the rest of the episodes are as bad as the first.

lucky louie was pretty damn funny

dvr'd , will watch after work....but HBO is pretty good with their series, I can't name a bad one, theres just been ones I don't watch (Flight of the Concord and Deadwood are first to mind, which are typically held in high esteem)

I really enjoyed it and think it will only get better

for the hotel note slipper, school coworker would be good...but I think it's probably someone closer to him than that that we maybe haven't even met yet...or we have and it's someone like his daughter (yeah I went there) or mother-in-law. Ex-wife is just a bit too predictable.

So for all these people that are saying you enjoyed the show, what did you like about it?

If I had to describe the show, I would say it was about a guy who's life had taken a downturn and now completely sucked at every aspect. And in an effort to make it better, he tried to be a male prostitute, but he (as of yet) couldn't even manage to get that right. So he can't even get the one thing he's got going for him to work. There wasn't anything funny, although I realize it's not supposed to be a comedy, so I won't hold the lack of humor against it, but it wasn't even really drama filled either. It was just a show about a guy who has a shitty life. I really am having a hard time trying to find anything redeeming about it. So for the people that did like it, did you just like how everything got set up for there to be potential funny/interesting things to happen in the future, or did you actually find enjoyment out of the content provided in the first ep?

What I liked about it was that I found myself rooting for a person, who once seemed to have everything going for him, only to have everything taken away. In order to try and put his life back together, he finds the only way to do so is through unconventional means that many deem as taboo. But as it is his only "asset" he has to work with, you find yourself rooting for him anyway. It reminds me a lot of the movie "The Wrestler," which I really liked.

My biggest complaint is that they can't show it back to back with Deadwood. That would be a goldmine of immature comments.

I'm hopeful that it will pick up. I've been a fan of Thomas Jane since I saw Stander years ago.

i liked the guy's attitude; now he's at rock bottom. i want to see where he goes from here. maybe i'm drafting off potential and it'll burn me in the end, but it seems like a good gamble. and i thought there was a lot of subtle humor; nothing quotable.

My guess is the person in the hotel was no one. I felt like it was just to point out his way of going about things was inadequate. But then again I could be wrong.

how lame would this show get if tanya ended up having feelings for ray or even vice versa? i really hope this show doesn't take such a predictable path. other than that, i really think this show has potential.

In a bizarre twist, the first 'customer' will return at the end of the season, revealing something crazy.

This episode didn't suck nearly as much as the first one, but it was still pretty damn bad. I think I'm done with this show. I really want to like it, but I just don't see it happening.

The actors they got to play his kids have got to be two of the most ugly people in show business. I wonder what significance there is in filling those two roles with those mutant looking freaks.

i think they are ugly, but well cast. It helps show the extremely large disconnect that they have towards their superficial, attractive mother and their once upon a time all-star athlete father.

I really almost shit myself when he said that.

I dig the show. It's pretty funny and was interesting enough to get me invested in watching the rest of the story. I don't know what El Nacho expects, the show delivers pretty much what I expected it to. Of course it is going to be a bit of a downer, but it also brought the lulz.
