How do you expect to sell a car with 5 words or less?

Interior pics would be useful...

Service history? Accident history? Length of ownership? Options?

fortunately for him, he can ask whatever he wants for the car. It's worth what someone will pay.

its a good car and that is what matters. we just want to sell it to pay it off. johnson lexus got her good when she bought it so I have to sell my truck too just to get her payoff.

sorry, just curious. i really don't spend much time on here as you can tell from my posts.

good luck selling it though. you're not doing too bad though when you have a 6 year old car with 88k on it and can ask $13,500 for it. she must have bought a pretty good car with service history and the condition to command that price. if i was you i wouldn't discount it if it is in as good of condition as you say. might take a bit longer to sell it, but there will always be somebody that sees the value in it. nada is just a market average. although i would just advertise elsewhere.

^ Um, and why isn't it a good car son?

It's an extra luxurious Toyota Camry, which is not exactly the worlds most unreliable car or anything.

oh, i don't disagree that it's a good car...i disagree that that's "what matters"...what matters is that value is determined by the buyer...if someone thinks it's worth $100k, then by golly, it is...if no one thinks it's worth more than $5k, then THAT is what matters

the price he posted was a decent price to start at.

it's like tww is completely unaware of the widely used method of setting your asking price a little higher than what you actually want and then "letting" a potential buyer "talk you down" to what you actually wanted anyway so they feel like they're getting a deal.

he has to list a price and $800 over NADA is a good place to start.

tww isn't unaware of this...it's just that it's not tolerated here

the tww population, for all their faults, DO know what they're talking about (at least as far as teh intarweb tells them) in a lot of cases...no one from TWW will pay close to his asking price...their game is to get him to ask for a deal price, and then talk him down from there

besides, that wasn't quite my point...my point is that it's amusing how many people come in here thinking that they know the "value" of something when the truth is that "value" is subjective...he said that it was a "good car" and that that's what matters...good it may be, but "good" alone does not determine value

maybe i'm the only one who doesn't see a problem with it.

i mean, when folks come on here wanting $100 for a ragged couch or $75 for an old 20" TV, i give them hell like everyone else. but this guy's starting price wasn't bad imo.

[Edited on June 30, 2009 at 11:28 AM. Reason : y'all are gonna lowball the guy no matter what he puts on it]

that is very very true

i don't see anything wrong with it...i wish him the best of luck and as far as i'm concerned, he can sell it for twice its value...but twwers, in general, are pretty good (or bad?) about noting when someone is asking beyond what they will get

on this forum, $13.5k is unrealistic, as is the $12,725 he reduced it to...he will NOT get more than $12k from a twwer
