I have a laptop and a desktop at work. I have a script setup to run on fridays which moves over certain folders from my pc to my laptop. One thing i have it setup to do is copy over my PST file from outlook.
Copying the PST file for some reason does not copy over any of my calendar settings or dates/events. Messages and contacts are copied fine.
Is there a way to sync outlook calendar without using gmail? I was trying to find the file that the calendar information is stored in and just copy that over in my script. I really want this to be all automatic and not having to export and import every week. 6/29/2009 10:51:07 AM |

What version of Outlook?
I've moved .pst files before and thought it moved the calendar info.
If it doesn't though then I dunno.. It'd be super simple to just use a random gmail address and install google sync or whatever the program is called on both of them. They'd be updated all the time then which would be easier.
Or do what I do and have everything forwarded to gmail and just use IMAP accounts on both of them so everything is synced.
Or

You could use a program like Dropbox to sync it as well. My work desktop and home desktop both sync PSTs using Dropbox and that syncs my Calendar, e-mail, etc.
Maybe you need to check your settings to make sure that when you open the file that it is importing calendar events? Just a thought. 6/29/2009 1:22:29 PM |

I use 2007 outlook.
Pretty much i just overwrite the previous pst file with the new one and it opens flawlessly. Just doesn't copy my calendar events and tasks. 6/29/2009 1:40:25 PM |

not sure but id assume that PST file only does email and contacts, calendar is a separate file. 6/29/2009 3:13:38 PM |
