Ratty CB500 with 20k that runs great. I haven't completely committed to selling it, so lets see what you're offering.
New Parts: Carbs rebuilt Tires Voltage Reg. Rectifier Stator and field coil (replaced with working parts) Seat Clubman Bars Master cylinder Front brake pads Headlight Drive chain Coils Spark plugs Battery Speedo cable edit: new ignition points
The bad: Needs shifter seal (leaks a little oil) Needs petcock (leaks a little gas) Electric start disconnected (at handle bars) Blinkers disconnected (missing one front one, disconnected at handle bars) A little rusty Rear brake disconnected (bolt stripped in drum lever) Gas tank is beat to shit, but holds gas Had to do some rewiring so the wiring isn't the prettiest to look at (zipties/electrical tape)
I've spent the last 9 months slowly getting it running reliably, which it does now. Starts up on the first kick, or the second if you're being a pussy.
$1000?

A little rusty? Looks like Spongebob rode it the last couple years. 7/7/2009 5:25:34 PM |

Exhaust wrap is the equivalent of gold plating, you didn't know?7/7/2009 5:30:54 PM |

Also, is that exhaust homemade? And wtf kind of rear shocks are those? And how is the seat in perfect condition? It doesn't look original. And you can get the rubber piece to hold the battery in for like $5. The sidecovers are $$$, though. And is the front fender rattle-canned?
Are you the guy who said he posts on sohc4.net? Run it by those guys. I'd say you're looking at ~$750 tops, unless you get some chump to buy it.

Not home made, though brand is unknown. I just purposely bought some cheap (read: rusty) pipes because the straight pipes were deafening and I didn't want to shell out a couple hundred on exhaust. They fit the style ; )
Bike didn't come with a seat, got a lucky ebay find. It is stock.
Stock (probably original) rear springs and shocks.
And I probably will run it by those guys at some point. 7/7/2009 5:40:59 PM |
