I went to NC State soccer camp in 1992 and 1993. And the USA hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup, so yeh the 1990s were pretty cool. 1994 was what I call the last summer of my childhood because it was between 8th and 9th grade. After my freshman year of high school my dad made me go to work with him all summer every summer.

Marty Stouffer! Alanas Morissette was still hip! The Wallflowers played everyday on the radio! People still listened to the radio!

Edit: Wow, just researched why they stopped making Stouffer shows. Sad shit, dude cheated. He was my childhood icon.

i don't know what the hell you're talking about... I didn't like them, but the boy bands have been around for forever... remember a band called New Kids on the Block?

how about any of these:

N'Sync, No Authority, Backstreet Boys, Boys II Men, B2k, Boyzone, Take That, Westlife, Bel Biv DeVoe, Hanson, 98 Degrees, Five, LFO, BB Mack, Dream Street, 2 Gether, Hi-Five....

and that's just a few!

nah, I buy this. In the Prodigy days, naked women weren't taken as a given that could be downloaded in a matter of seconds. You had to start as soon as you got home and maybe you'd get a peek at nipple before your parents showed up. But what a glorious peek it was!

i was specifically referring to n'sync, backstreet boys, and 98 degrees...

i listened to g105/mix 101.5 religiously in the 90s and never even knew who these fuckers were until they apparently hit it big in 1999/2000

i do not consider any black boy band in the same category with the douche bags listed above...they are awesome and nobody ever referred to them as "boy bands"...but mainly because TKE-Teg doesn't listen to them

I was going to bring up how it's probably more the case that you've outgrown video games or have become jaded to some extent rather than the games getting worse... but then I thought:

If Super Mario Bros. 3 had just came out for the first time today it would still be extremely fun, but it would probably only have 5 or 6 worlds.

lol i thought i was the only one who remembered Prodigy.

The thing about nostalgia is that you only remember the good times, therefore the past will always seem better than the present.

Super Nintendo was awesome. I still remember seeing the Street Fighter II series and Mortal Kombat series in the arcade for the first time at soccer camp in the Wolves Den at the Talley Student Center. About 5 years ago a list was made of the top 100 video games of all time and Super Metroid finished #1 even after PS2, Game Cube, and Xbox had taken over the market. I just plugged in my SNES the other day to play Sunset Riders. Pilotwings was also pretty awesome.
