Why can't you just use a program (like photoshop) that does batch processing, and have it print to PDF? I would assume it has options to include printing in the script.] 7/11/2009 12:52:38 PM |

The best part about tech talk is how when somebody asks a question, the people who know the answer don't tell you what it is and the people who don't make fun of the question. 7/11/2009 3:49:48 PM |

IrfanView kinda works....it will convert like 20% of the .gif's to .pdf, but errors on the other ones. There is nothing different about these files (other than content), and were copied using the same algor.
Here is an example:
Converting image: C:\Users\[userName]\Desktop\102.gif Error! Can't save: C:\Users\[userName]\Desktop\102.pdf Converting image: C:\Users\[userName]\Desktop\103.gif ... Ok - C:\Users\[userName]\Desktop\103.pdf
what gives? 7/14/2009 4:09:16 PM |

You never did explain why you need to do this thing. There might be an even better solution. 7/14/2009 4:18:55 PM |

^^ No idea. If you can send me the files and can try the conversion on my end. FTP would work.
Also, I meant to ask this earlier: Why PDF?
PDF is a container and not an independent image format.

I have a series of .gif's that I would like to combine together to form a comic. I want all of them in one large file which is easy to use/read. PDF seems to fit pretty well for this instance.
^PM me your email addy, the zip file with all gif's is only 4MB.
Thx! 7/15/2009 3:06:17 PM |

Honestly, I like "larger gif" as a format better than pdf but that's just me.
Edit: Unless by comic, you mean multiple pages. Then it's a toss-up between html and pdf.

I replicated the Irfanview conversion issues. I have no idea as to the cause. Anyway, it took about 10 seconds to do the conversion using Acrobat. 7/17/2009 1:51:23 PM |
