I like the EPISODE where they go camping and her entire family gets poisoned and her friend goes to visit their relatives out in the middle of nowhere.

WHAT THE HELL IS WROOONG WITH YOUUU?!?!?!

Also, the series COMPLETELY started to fucking suck once MTV took it over. You can tell as soon as they took it over as they immediately did the following:

1.) Shitty punk/rock/hip hop music played in the background constantly no matter what was going on.
2.) Daria started to act "nicer" than she did before and less like a sarcastic, cynical, hilarious bitch.
3.) Daria on more than one occasion will say/act like she felt bad about something she did that would normally just cause her to smile and enjoy the other party's misery.
4.) Everybody suddenly got all tied up in love circles.
5.) The stories started sucking a lot more.

If I could have all the episodes before that happened then sure, I'd take em. Fuck MTV though.

I mean there was a point where it is very apparent that MTV took over the show and started doing whatever the hell they wanted to with it to fit their greater corporate vision of a unified consumerist whitebread teenage America.

Before that happened it was pretty apparent the show was very much against mtv culture, as Daria basically makes fun of jocks, cheerleaders, popular folks, idiots, blind consumers, and dumb suburbanites without end. Once MTV made the changes I mentioned it was like they shot the old director in the face and put one of those zombie robot dudes from They Live in his place to run things.

Yeah. I mean, Daria had music that played in it in a number of episodes, that's not my issue. In recent years when my old roommate's GF was over, MTV was on a hell of a lot and, thus, so were Daria reruns and some seasons I hadn't seen before (namely season 4 and later). At that point, all but the oldest seasons (I think) had awful modern pop music put into every scene. Before that it was more "where it was appropriate" and the show was more like a cartoon with people who hate other people (a show after my own heart).

I was just pissed that a show I liked so much got taken over by corporate zombies, whether the producer decided to do it or was forced to.
