wtf yall complain too much
mine was $240 AND THAT'S LOW!
my winter bill runs $400-500 and the lowest i ever see is about $210
of course i live in rocky mount where we have socialist utilities all controlled by the city. my gas, electric, water & sewer, trash, & recycling are all one bill. so it's not as dramatic as it sounds...but the winter bills are high no matter how you cut it. 7/16/2009 10:32:31 AM |

it's also very much dependent on your house situation. i have a 1600 sf house built in 1964 that isn't very well insulated or sealed, except for the attic. 7/16/2009 10:45:29 AM |

what the hell do you people do in your homes?
my girlfriend is laid off and is at home watching tv all day with the AC blasting, i live my computer on all the time, and i have numerous other appliances. My power bill never goes over 80. My gas is separate and that never goes above 80 in the winter.
in total i don't exceed 120 any month of the year for gas/power/water. 7/16/2009 11:03:24 AM |

I don't have gas but our electric bill never goes over 120, I think 115 was the most it's been. I have a freestanding 2000 hsf house (2 stories) with an attached unifinished 2 car garage. We keep it on 70-71 so I suspect it's somewhat cheaper in the winter as we haven't lived here through a winter yet. We also have vents in the ceiling upstairs and downstairs (dual zone heat pumps).
It's weird because I've lived in an older 750 sq ft apartment (2nd/upper floor), a newer 1400 sq ft apartment (1st floor) and have always had about the same priced electric bill 80-120.7/16/2009 11:39:15 AM |

you're lying or you don't pay the bill and therefore have no real knowledge of it.
its $10/month for just the hook up. if you use no gas it is 10/month.
if you run the heat at all, which i assume you do since i dont' see any threads about your pipes busting, you pay more than 10.7/16/2009 1:48:07 PM |

We moved here in FEb. so we haven't done a winter yet. We cook alot with the gas stove (LOVE IT) but it's still cheap. Heating this is going to be awful. I have a feeling the electric fireplace is going to get a lot of use in our living room. 7/16/2009 2:49:58 PM |

townhomes are attached to other townhomes which helps them lose less energy. 72 degrees isn't very cold, at least not in my house. you have to run down to at least 68 at night to sleep comfortably. i still wake up hot.7/16/2009 3:04:53 PM |
