....is the shit. a pro would have to spend countless hours to achieve what this does in 30 minutes. actually i have about 5 hours just trying different mic positions to achieve the perfect soundstage for BOTH seats. i've got it pretty damn close now. it's amazing what 4 inches can do in mic placement.

^ yup it's pretty much the same auto eq & time correction software that home audio has been using for years. i haven't had a chance to play with it glad to hear you like it.i have an oldschool alpine that has everything in the unit. what hu do you have? does it override and add additional bands to your hu's built in eq?

I know I like to get the perfect car audio sound...so that all the highway noise will render any big premium I paid for top notch components next to worthless over more moderately priced stuff.

Quiet like my home theater? I believe he is in a truck regardless. What about soundstage? I was waiting on someone to bite the troll bait.

I was heavy into car audio starting when I was about 15. I spentwasted a large amount of summer job income pursuing car audio perfection. I had Car Audio mag and used to drool over the SQ cars and sought the deep/wide soundstage that the winning cars were reviewed to have. I built the 3 way kickpods and hauled a laptop out there to tune the gains as best I could with what I had and just assumed one day I'd be able to go digital and time align everything with a proper processor.

My freshman year at State I finally got around to attending a show and was motivated partly because a guy I befriended at state's dad had just such a car. And let me tell you, it was the one of the biggest let downs I think I've ever experienced. It was like the hottest chick in the school being interested in you, telling you all week long she is going to fuck your brains out, and then right as you are rounding 3rd base she says she is having second thoughts and wants to go home.

That deep/wide sound stage was a joke compared to real home theater. I had an idea in my mind that it would be a good approximation. No. I mean, compared to factory, yeah, but for the several thousand spent on all the equipment? Sure, when the car is sitting still with the engine off, it's pretty quiet, but I'd rather sit in the air condition in my home and listen to a proper system than in my car, especially in the summer. The ROI is simply too low.

that and the fact that the music source is probly mp3s off an ipod; this is a complete waste of money.

Well, not a complete waste. It's just you can get a ton of bang for your buck up to a certain level and then after that the marginal benefit cost skyrockets.

^ exactly
i promise you my car sounds a fuck ton better than most but guys who've spent 3x more only sound a little better, law of diminishing returns.

it doesn't take a lot of $$ to get a huge jump in sq even playin mp3s as long as it's decent quality (192kbps) and decently encoded.

sound deadening is an easy fix for noise. also it's little unfair to compare the soundstage of a 7/5.1 system versus the 2.1 system of (most)cars. and it's not like anyone makes a choice to listen in their car or home. it's more i want decent sq in my car, when i'm in the car.my original ht setup consisted of a harmon kardon receiver w/ infinity 5.1 speakers and it didn't sound as good as my car.
