I'm having serious issues with BBM. I'll receive a message (most of the time) but the ones I send out are either getting the circles next to them or just a check mark. They rarely show as being Delivered, and if they are, they never show as being Read.
Alltel no longer has a customer service number so I called Verizon. The lady I spoke to in the blackberry tech section was a complete idiot. She gave me a number to Blackberry/RIM...however, apparently I have to PAY if I want tech support!! Screw that...
So, I tried soft resets and hard resets. I can't uninstall/reinstall BBM because its a part of my operating system (so says crackberry.com). Any ideas on how to fix this? 7/23/2009 5:14:18 PM |

it's no surprise that verizon's TS is horrible. I've been dreading this changeover.
as far as your problem... are the messages actually being sent (are other people actually getting them)?
secondly, have you tried reinstalling the OS? 7/23/2009 5:18:49 PM |

Well, I know the message isn't getting sent when it has the circles next to it and I assume it isn't either when just a check is displayed. I rely on seeing the "D" and "R" to know its been at least delivered (and subsequently read). In my case, this isn't happening anymore. No D or R
I'm receiving messages ok...just a little sporadic in when I receive them (from hours to just minutes).
I haven't reinstalled the OS b/c it took me like 30 minutes (when I first installed it months ago) and I'm being stubborn looking for a quick fix ;-)

well you need to find out if they are actually being delivered or not. if they are, then it is a BBM error. if not, then it could be a BBM error, network issues, settings issue, etc. 7/23/2009 5:38:11 PM |

most of them are not being delivered 7/23/2009 5:38:48 PM |

most eh?
well you can try deleting BBM (which you can do, btw) and reinstalling it (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/features/im/blackberry_messenger.jsp)
resending service books?
re-register the phone?
wireless update?

in the middle of resending the service books (I think...nothing is happening). and I have a pearl...its my understanding I can't reinstall BBM unless I do it through the computer. 7/23/2009 5:44:42 PM |

well... maybe, IDK. I always though you could download it from the mobile BB site. I'm not familiar with the pearl though, maybe you can't delete/reinstall? that doesn't make sense though. 7/23/2009 5:46:06 PM |

no b/c for some stupid reason they made it a part of the operating system on the pearl. this is really annoying me. and VZ customer service pissed me off so much I don't want to call back...but I'm not sure what else to do. 7/23/2009 5:49:49 PM |

are you sure you can't delete it? advanced -> applications -> BBM -> select -> delete? 7/23/2009 5:55:07 PM |

lol. idk then. keep calling TS until you get a non-morn. demand better service. ask to speak to a manager.
