Because of the 5000 people dead from the vaccine and it doesn't make sense to vaccinate kids given the risk?

Did even 1000 kids die of the covid?

Yeah, I do now.

It's probably because the number of vaccines have increased from 24 in the 80s to like 60+ today. But I don't care enough to look. Easier to call it a death cult. Sure that's what they are doing.

This is getting every closer to Pakistan, where there have been multiple confirmed incidents in recent years of armed individuals gunning down volunteer vaccine administrators attempting to eradicate only the second human disease -- polio. They claim the polio vaccine is a CIA plot to sterilize Muslims. It didn't help that the CIA used a Hepatitis B vaccination drive as a front to collect DNA from children related to Osama bin Laden, but that's another story. The least they could have done in that case was give legitimate vaccines.

" VAERS accepts reports of adverse events and reactions that occur following vaccination. Healthcare providers, vaccine manufacturers, and the public can submit reports to VAERS. While very important in monitoring vaccine safety, VAERS reports alone cannot be used to determine if a vaccine caused or contributed to an adverse event or illness. The reports may contain information that is incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental, or unverifiable. Most reports to VAERS are voluntary, which means they are subject to biases. This creates specific limitations on how the data can be used scientifically. Data from VAERS reports should always be interpreted with these limitations in mind."

That looks to be aging well in the UK and increasingly here.

Several seem to be true, but others they present without evidence. Israel was the first country to report myocarditis and in higher numbers than here.

/r/covidvaccinated is littered with effects that seems pretty terrible and there's been a few high profile cases recently. My wife had an employee hospitalized for 3 days and have a friend with tingly hands. Outside if that I know zero people personally that had effects of the vax. Even if there is 5000 dead, if that were the only effect and there remains to be seen if their are other effects I can still see getting vaxxed if you're under 45 or fat.

If the vax is shown to have reduced effectiveness or they find some other long term effects...

So how many of the 6 to 9k were caused by the vaccine would you guess?

I'd say since older people were vaccinated first that probably accounts for some of it. There are 13-29 year olds in the data that collapsed of heart failure or stroke after a jog. Just because it isn't yet confirmed doesn't mean it won't be.

The number of reports is an order of magnitude higher than any vaccine in history. Maybe that's due to older population getting this vaccine. I'm sure it's not every case. The anchor that was supposed to keep the spike protein local doesn't work. It's not a jump to think that causes effects they didn't foresee.

https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-vaccine-safe/fact-check-no-evidence-spike-proteins-from-covid-19-vaccines-are-toxic-idUSL2N2NX1J6

So what do you all think the response to the vaccine’s wide availability and the GOP’s messaging would have been if Trump had won? Would they have pushed it as a miracle cure that everyone must take? I think ~90% of the people that are currently against the vaccine would have taken it by now had Trump been re-elected.

Not sure how this became the thread for serious COVID / vaccine discussion (although the above posts are politically relevant), but whatever. . .

"Covid: Younger adults still at risk of serious organ damage - study"

But I already heard that if you're under 45 and not morbidly obese you have nothing to worry about. . .

Context helps.

Of the 100 in 100,000 under thirty admitted, 70% are overweight 50% obese. Of those 100 some may have long term effects.

Obesity by itself carries something like a 500 in 100,000 risk factor of death. Smoking probably about the same. If you want to be terrified by all means.

But muh exponential, or something next?

I don't think it would be significantly different.

One of the GOP's guiding principles is that government is wholly incapable of helping people ("The nine most terrifying words in the English language..."). The development and nationwide distribution of a vaccine contradicts that in a pretty direct manner, and I think the GOP would minimize the vaccine rollout regardless of who's in the White House. Perhaps the rhetoric wouldn't be as virulent ("They're experimenting on you!!1!!", "5G nanobots!", "It's practice for taking your guns and bibles!") but it would still be there ("Covid isn't that bad," "Do YoUr OwN rEsEaRcH," "The vaccine isn't that effective," etc).

Regarding Trump specifically: distributing vaccines in a reasonably equitable manner, maximizing use and minimizing waste is not a problem that lends itself to the indifference, incompetence and laziness that marked his administration. Much easier to downplay the need for vaccines and then place blame/take credit from those actually trying to distribute the vaccines in spite of the administration's hostility.

KAMALA HARRIS: If past is prologue that they will not, they'll be muzzled, they'll be suppressed, they will be sidelined. Because [Trump]'s looking at an election coming up in less than 60 days and he's grasping for whatever he can get to pretend he has been a leader on this issue when he is not.

BASH: So let’s just say there’s a vaccine that is approved and even distributed before the election. Would you get it?

HARRIS: I think that’s going to be an issue for all of us. I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump. It would have to be a credible source of information that talks about the efficacy and the reliability of whatever he’s talking about. I will not take his word for it. He wants us to inject bleach. I -- no, I will not take his word.

BASH: Dr. Fauci said a vaccine wouldn't be approved unless the American people had, really, assurances that it was safe and that he feels that it was safe, and that, if that happens, he would take it. Do you feel more comfortable hearing someone like Dr. Fauci say that?

HARRIS: I think Dr. Fauci has proven, for anyone who's been watching him for years and years, to put the public health of the American people as the highest priority in terms of his work and his reputation and his priority. Yes, I trust Dr. Fauci."

^^ what do you mean fall for? There are numerous examples of people saying they'd doubt a rushed vaccine or the vaccine is impossible on Trump's timeline. Did that not happen or were they not serious? Are they deep fakes?

The context in one was "I wouldn't listen to Trump". Ok that's reasonable.

Of my anecdotal sample from family, half the trump voters got vaccinated. Another half did not, because Bill Gates or whatever. A few of the liberal Oregon people didn't because GMOs I guess.
