how do you get drunk in the first hour at beer fest unless you're drinking more than the sample beers they give you.

I agree. It is sort of a rip off now. The Beer, Bourbon, & BBQ Fest is a much better deal. I bought a $30 VIP ticket that gave me 6 hours to drink.

I disagree. This isn't a booze cruise. It's a chance to actually enjoy some quality beer. The slightly higher price tag keeps out the morons that have the sole goal of getting plastered.

That thing is a waste of money. There's like no BBQ and it's crowded as hell. It's had consistently bad reviews by people overall each time they do it. Eventually they're going to have to restructure it because the word will filter around to everyone.

i've only been to the durham WBF once... one of the first years they did it if I am remembering correctly... it rained and was fun.

I don't do the fall one due to college football.

^^the fall one is the durham one. You might be thinking of the Raleigh WBF which is in the spring i believe. And whats wrong with watching State lose via mobile device while at Beer Fest?

yeah, but you're so full of beer that you can really only enjoy the first few. after that, especially the high gravity beers, its almost a chore to keep downing them. plus the buzz you get kinda negatively affects your appreciation for good beers. if it was an all day thing i might consider it, but 4 hours is kinda short to get your money's worth IMO.

i'm not talking about the evening session. I'm talking about paying 45 bucks for a ticket to a 3.75 hour event, and missing the first hour or two.

This will be my third World Beer Festival, I'll be there for the afternoon session. It is truly one of the best days of the year...

Jeremy Grey: Grab that net and catch that beautiful butterfly, pal! What do you like better, Christmas or Wedding Beerfest Season?
[Jeremy raises his hand]
John Beckwith: Mr. Grey?
Jeremy Grey: Yes. The answer would be, um, Wedding Beerfest Season?

^^ my current employer has a habit of calling me into work with only a one hour notice. Especially on Fridays. Having to drive 24 hours in a 48 hour period leaves little time for drinking

^^^They give you a 4oz plastic glass. You walk around from booth to booth getting 3oz pours of any beer you want.

Haha, saw one dude puke his brains out in front of everyone. That was worth it in itself.
