A rep from SC said to the Pres. "You lie!" last night and the Big O glared at him.

I've never met a South Carolinian that had a sense of decorum. He's just another South Carolinian.

Standing up to him in the middle of a joint session of Congress? Seriously, TIME AND A PLACE. That wasn't it.

He didn't have the balls, he backed the fuck down and bitched the fuck out by apologizing.

And what makes you think people don't stand up to him on a daily basis? Because you'd be afraid to man up and say what you've got to say to him? I support him, but he's just the president, not fucking God. Don't project your social inadequacies on others, son.

Besides, lots of people in his own party said it was a dumb thing to do. McCain went on Larry King and said as much.

^ That excuses bad behavior? A member of Congress ought to have a bit of dignity when addressing the president. God knows, Republicans sure demanded it of everyone else after 9/11. You can think the president is 100% wrong, but this sort of behavior from him is self-defeating.

He's representing the people of South Carolina, who love the fact that he shouted out during the speech. I'm just saying, as a politician, he's representing their voices. I'm not saying it wasn't wrong, it was clearly wrong. I think the bigger issue is why the people feel that way in SC, and has less to do with Joe Wilson apologizing. He's just one man, that represents a formidable southern state.

formidable? we're talking about the state that spent weeks deciding if they should keep the confederate flag flying at their state capitol?

The republican Congressman from South Carolina Wilson managed to fund his opponents entire campaign by shouting out to call the president a lair in the middle of his address to a joint session of congress last night.

http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/19079

The amount raised went up 3000 dollars while I typed this message.

yeah, he sure did read a lot of pretty words for 44 minutes. i think thats what what we need to take away from this. That and the fact that people in south carolina with their black people and poverty probably can't understand words outside of a klan meeting. plus they're from the south and im with froshkiller and miss teen california on this one: we believe in slavery and made in china

end of story

It's slightly ironic that everyone claims South Carolinian's are stupid, when they appear to be the only ones not swallowing Obama's verbal load. Wouldn't it be the other way around if they were truly stupid? Who are the real stupid ones?

^^I went to a tea party in downtown Raleigh. It wasn't absurd. It wasn't filled with crazy folks. There was no hate speech, there were blacks and Hispanics there as well. Just lots of people who think that big government is not the answer.

absurd tea parties indeed! what gets me is how these people get the nerve to speak their minds and the party most of them are affiliated with isn't even known for public assembly. what are they gonna do next, apply for a peaceable assembly permit? stage a sit in? have an opinion?

I seriously think Obama could say that he hates poor people and wants to kill them all and she would get a gigantic smile, start clapping, and stand up whilst continuing to clap.

It's so horrible out split our country is. It's turned into people not giving a shit about the well being of the people and more into lets just do the opposite of what the majority wants.
