sheets or liquid if its liquid your washer may have a place for it or she may have one of those downey balls you poor it in, close and then throw in the dryer!

I don't know how to use fabric softener, because I've never used it before. My clothes feel fine after a normal wash/dry cycle.

Someone mentioned this earlier about fabric softener, but it does it for dryer sheets too. It's coats the towels and makes them significantly less absorbent (and apparently it makes things that are flame retardant not so anymore)...
